(Show just premiered, I did do multiple searches for it on here and came up with nothing, so forgive me if it is a repeat topic)

I don't actually remember hearing about it before the premiere, but watched the whole thing through and found it likable. Sort of feels like a CSI with a SciFi twist, but don't quote me on that. Really found the Professor to be a likable character, and I want to try and be the first to say Gene will get herself a cult following (like the Companion Cube and whatnot).

So, what did you guys think?

My dad and I watched it last night. It was great! I also like the Professor. He reminds me of Professor Farnsworth from Futurama, except he's not as old. The show was very X-File-ish.

I watched it because of J.J. Abrams. It reminds me of the X-Files, which is a very good thing. I can't wait to see where the show goes.

Yeah, pretty much a modern X-Files.

You can't really judge how good a TV show is off the first episode, so I'll withhold my judgement for now.

The second episode was great. It kind of reminded me of Invasion, which was another show created by Abrams. The whole rapid human growth thing was pretty freaky.

You're going to have a very hard time watching this program if you don't want to leave science and logic at the door. It's pretty much "Pseudoscience: The TV Series".

I know, it's just that one thing has been overlooked since the beginning of sci-fi, no-one ever even TRIES to address it (except Species, I think). As for the show, I'm watching it because it makes "stupid science" REALLY fun to watch.

I have been watching this somewhat faithfully... I like this series sort of but I also dislike how every week it is like a new situation and another case to solve.

I just am hoping it connects to a bigger picture soon....

I don't mind the mostly episodic nature - there's space in my schedule for a bit of lightweight, enjoyable watching. One-case-a-week sort of shows fill that nicely.

Totally agree with you. I was pretty pissed to see her getting huge with the baby thing without her like constantly eating. I mean, I know the show is practically called "Psuedoscience", but at least have symptons that go along with the disorder. Like, if the baby started like eating the doctor's hand or like started tackling people and eating their faces, I'd get that...

The whole point is that science is beyond the scope and scale of what we think about, but just because thats the case in their canon doesn't mean that they can simply like, completely ignore the Newtonian principles.

Also, like a rookie in the field heading up her own investigation like, by herself? Come on. We live in the world we live in, a plane going cross borders with hundreds of people going all corpsified would have a significantly better funded/manned investigation than like a single FBI agent.

I give the concept an 7/10, but I give the show a 5/10 for just so blatently not having the psuedoscience even come CLOSE to some sort of real science.

I've seen the first 4 episodes and I'm hooked. Solid characters, good plot, overreaching conspiracy theory. I was an X-Phile so this is right up my alley.

I ENJOY the show, yeah, but...ugh, I honestly don't give a rat's ass about the main character.

I hope they can fix that, because that will make the show a lot more enjoyable. As it stands, though, Bishop is the only character who elicits anything approaching caring from me, and Peter almost does. Buuut not Olivia, at all.

Sexual tension is way more effective when it remains JUST tension though. You could tell from the first episode that she'll end up banging Peter, which I don't really prefer -- Broyles is much more age appropriate even if he is probably a baddie. Seriously that takes all the fun out of fanfic when it becomes canon. Don't the writers realize that already, especially if they're taking so much inspiration from the X-Files? Meh. At this rate they'll be in bed together by Episode 12.

The show's very very very very unsubtle. I prefer X-files.

But I do enjoy it. It's fun and has neat paranormal things and my curiosity is perked. Did I mention it is very very very unsubtle? The lead lady seems to only be good at spotting "Whats different in this picture?", otherwise bears no skills as a trained federal agent, and 80% of the dialogue is split between very very very very emphasizing whats going on ("You mean this object is UNEXPLAINABLE??? Like, CAN"T BE EXPLAINED? As in, NO ONE KNOWS WHATS GOING ON WITH THIS OBJECT?" ), rehashing whats going on ("So wait, this object is... a MYSTERY?!") or filler jokes.

It's kind of like X-files watered down.

I love this show. With it and House on the same night, back to back, i never get anything done on Tuesdays. But not really, I'm usually busy all night Tuesday, so I catch them later on Hulu, which is mega awesome.

I've never seen Lost, but from what I've seen of this so far, i think i'd probably like it. Some pretty neat ideas, and i like the concept.

Been watching it, I've watched the parasite one (with the heart thingy) the Red Red Red Green one, and then the Isolation tank returns episode. I can't wait to see more of it, and I am probably going to "obtain" the past episodes and watch them.

really feel bad for that little boy though, how messed up is he going to be from seeing his mother and other people be torn apart to shreds over and over and over? And what is causing people who have recieved brain trauma to focus on a single equation whether it be in musical, mathematical or maybe another form? Is it something akin to Close Encounters of the Third Kind? That they were just chosen? Or is it something present in all humanity that the "Pattern" is causing to surface?

Well I just chalked up the obsession with the equation as a fluke, a shared trait between these people, because

the equation doesn't SEEM to have any greater context beyond, with a bit of super awesomeness, allow one to phase through solid objects. It's not like, a universal meaning of life proof

which makes me believe they just happened upon it together. I like now that we have some kind of villain, or plotter that we're meant to understand is up to no good, although,

i was curious why this man isn't under greater scrutiny, given that when he was afflicted with that parasite, he was found to be holding very very sensitive data

Crazy theory about the equation. Seeing as the "Pattern" is all of these freak events, what if these freak events are triggering something that with the aid of MassiveCorp in humans that causes them to adapt and develope new traits to survive in these possible strange "freak acidents", and MassiveCorp is harvesting that data based on the mutations that these people develop and using them in bio weapons etc?
Less crazyly written.
Massive Corp is using a booster to speed up genetic adaptation, and using these "freak acidents" they are trying to steer the adaptations such that they can be harvested and utilized.
I just realized that has nothing to do with the equation.
Although I still think that the equation might be a side effect of the "Pattern"
