To be fair, it seems a common trait among those of us who do not have children to not find babies cute. I imagine that there is a bit of a change that occurs when one becomes a parent such that they no longer think infants are ugly.

This comic / chart has an appearance in another web comic. I saw it on reddit.com. I've been searching for a couple hours and I can't find it. Do any of you know which comic I'm talking about and can provide a link? The comic was about utilizing the principle to sell computers or something and the sales people becoming just as stupid as the customers.

I just had to post this...

This comic reminds me SO much of Shoko Nakagawa every time I see it...

The reason why the comic above strikes me so much is becuase every day or so, you will find one of her blog entries filled with such inanity, you can't help but to think it's true.

I swear to God that's what that says.

The girl is question is a Japanese TV star. She's a nerd, so it's cool. She posts from her cell phone about 7-14 times a day about random things. Her cats, Mamitoss, Chibita, and a black cat named "Luna" are her utimate obsession. What was cool is Sanrio recently made a Hello Kitty version of Mamitoss holding a doll version of Shoko. (You can see it in the background of the first picture)

I talk to my dog as if she's an old friend, who has trouble understandin the world of today. The only thing I'm going to add to this is that it's not just true for cats (although they do seem to be the most psychokinetic as far as our expression of feelings when around them), but a lot of things. Myself and both my sisters do this with our dog, and I do the whole song lyric thing with both the cat and the dog, where you replace various words of the song with the word 'cat,' 'kitty,' 'dog,' 'puppy,' (regardless of the age of the dog in question) or either pet's name.

"Now that your kitty's in bloom,
A light hits Athena on the gray."

(This really only works, though, when the cat is at least in the room. Otherwise, it kinda just sounds stupid.)

There are a number of vagabond cats that hang out around the apartment complex where I live. Sometimes I'll spend up to 5 minutes in a staring contest with one, wanting to pet it and say silly things, but I'm always a bit worried that someone might catch me. But even then, that person would be inclined to behave the same way, so I guess it's all good after all.

Cows are cuter, though. Especially baby Holstein or Jersey cows. :3

When I look at the Individual XKCD Comic Threads board, now that this has jumped back to the top-ish, everytime I see the heading "Cat Proximity" Discussion a little voice in my head says "Kitty Proximity Discussion! Squee!" before I compulsively click the link.

Also, my most horrible lyric-with-"kitty"-replacement story: there's some Will Smith song (I think it's Wild Wild West) where he goes "wiki-wiki-wild wiki-wild wild". I now sing, to my cat, around my cat or about my cat "micky micky meow, micky meow meow!"
