We finished watching the first season a few weeks back. Loved it!!! I never read the books it was based on however, but I am curious now. It's definitely a very unique story, about a lovable serial killer, obsessed with blood. You find yourself rooting for this guy, and hoping he can get in touch with his emotions and make a real connection with Rita.

I am really looking forward to the next season here this fall.

I can't wait until season 2, apparently the first episode of the new season is being shown on September 30th. I've been waiting about eight months now, I can't believe they're making me wait even more!

But still an amazing hall, Michael C. Hall is perfect for the part of Dexter, and he goes so well with the girl who plays Rita. It just seems like that's how the actors should be, and I don't think the show could have been casted any better.

Don't bother changing the topic, the ones that know about the show will understand. I immediately thought of the Showtime series.

I was giddy to watch it once I started seeing previews, and the show totally exceeded my expectations. I'm so jazzed for the second season!!

I read the first book (after seeing the season finale) and wasn't terribly impressed. The writing style is OK, the characters are very much the same, but not shown in as much detail. Obviously they had to come up with more dialog and events along the way to stretch out the 200-ish pages to a whole TV season.

So now I'm conflicted. Do I read the second book, and then get pleasantly surprised as the elongated televised story plays out? It would ruin any plot twists along the way (Brian/Biney, for those of you who know what I'm talking about). But if I watch the shows, going back to the book will seem like a bit of a let-down.

Bah either way it's fantastic, edgy, and original. Keep on truckin'.

I watched this on download and thank God for torrent (allowed to say that here?!). I would have gone insane waiting a week for the next episode. Maybe killed a few people and kept their blood on lab slides, you know, that sort of thing.

It's still halfway through in the UK (at the 'Yeah Dex, I saw the IceTruck Killer. I chased him' stage). My torrenty other half, however, has managed to get the first 2 episodes of S2 which I will be revelling in later...

All I will say it, it was going to happen at some point, but as always with Dexter, it happens about 4 episodes before your ready/expecting it to happen.

There's tons of writers like this. However, most of them won't make it to TV, because, let's face it... it's a show about a serial killer vivisecting people. I can see one show with this level of sick wierditude, but not many more (I mean, hell, Profit started this, and it took, what, a DECADE to get another one?)

Saw it a couple weeks ago! Loved it. Not quite the shocking twist as season 1 ender, but still great.

I can't imagine how much will be cut out when it comes to CBS. Have you ever seen Die Hard on regular tv? There was so many voice overs from someone who didn't sound remotely close to Bruce. It was awful. That is what Dexter is going to be like.

Any trimmed down version of Dexter is going to be an inferior Dexter.
