Does it have to be Norway, or just a Norwegian? I'm sure we can find one of those to help.

It either has to be Norway or the King of Norway - I'm not sure which.

Frankly sounds very illegal. But harmless. I have always wondered what being a citizen of NOWHERE would be like, but then where do you get a passport? It would need...fixing.

A lot of people, including many Romani ("gypsies" although that's considered an offensive slur) are stateless against their will. You have no patron.

I believe you've just necro'd a thread from four years ago with a reply to your own question from then?

I think this thread belongs in its own country.

Clearly they got tired of waiting around for one of us to figure out the answer. Four years is a long time to sit around waiting for someone else to figure something out.

This reminds me of the principality of sealand.

They got away with it, were invaded even!

Ash Williams enters the forums wielding a shotgun and a chainsaw for an arm, utters words that will become a catchphrase in cult followings for years to come, and does epic battle with zombie thread, ultimately defeating it, though the epilogue suggests that this is only the beginning of the zombie-thread horror from Hell... or YouTube, it's a toss up which is more evil...

Later, critics will pan the film but this will not deter the loyal cult following that through a case of fannish exuberance will accidentally perform the ritual to raise zombie threads across the internet.

In response to the rise of the Zombie Threads Ash Williams will enter forums wielding a shotgun and a chainsaw for an arm....
We're in the traffic-chopper over the XKCD boards where there's been a thread-derailment. Later, Garrus was eaten by a shark. It is believed that the Point has perished in the accident. Back to you Bob.

A crazy old man trying to leave his mark, or is he justified in his claims? How does U.K. and the E.U. respond? Allowing such a claim may set a precedent, and the lord knows what other legal discrepancies can be dug up concerning territories. Do they just leave the 65 year old man and see what happens? Would you join him on this god forsaken rock based on his declared ideas?

To make it a precedent would require it to be the first time this happened - see above re Sealand...

My guess is that they'll decide him to be like Sealand... and just not listen to the oil part.

It's worked out well the last few decades.

Not to mention KickassiaMolossia in the US, along with a number of other similarly declared micronations. I suspect about half of all micronations are people declaring their own property sovereign land. Thankfully most of them don't suffer the same fate as Petoria.
