It's a Maw. Reapers don't attack other Reapers -- they may be sovereign entities but they operate under consensus. Also, there IS variety in Reaper structure -- when you see Harbinger playing ME3 you'll get a real sense of the scale and represented rank/seniority of Reapers.

Dammit BioWare, why must you release on the 9th in Europe?

1. Download FlyVPN
2. Get the Free trial username and password from here: http://www.flyvpn.com/freetrial
3. Log in to Origin under your NORMAL IP. This is important.
4. When Origin is loaded up go to your VPN and connect, pick the Asia tab at the top and pick Hong Kong
5. Click play on Mass Effect 3, it'll do the date and time check
6. When it's activated disconnect from the VPN
7. Exit Origin and turn it back on again
8. Enjoy the game before nearly everyone else.

^^ Copy pasted from another forum, I've not tried it myself yet, but I will.

Do not read the bioware forums. It was rookie mistake, but I just got spoiled. Some jackass made a thread whose title gave away a major spoiler.

Yeah, I'm even avoiding the mass effect subreddit until I play the game. I know the moderators there are usually pretty good, but I'd rather not risk it.

Man I hate spoilers, I played the demo and it was pretty clean. But still, spoilers are called that for a reason. It's never been a problem here, but I believe that there's a special hell for spoiler-trolls. A special hell.

Yep. I like to think that this hell involves the spoiler-troll being told they're getting early access to a special screening of a brand new, ultra-hyped up movie. They get the whole set-up, movie theater, popcorn, soda, the works. They sit the whole movie, and then are released into the depths of the internet. Upon posting spoilers everywhere, every comment in reply to them is "Dude, that movie came out like five years ago."

Yes, I have a scenario for this. Don't judge me.

Eh, I suppose, but everyone has different tastes, and usually the people who hated it are more vocal about it. So.... I'd take anything said on a forum with a grain of salt. Particularly the bioware forums, where they can whine about a character in the game being gay as ruining the game.

I've been trying to spoil myself but I've only been able to find the 'bad' ending, anyone know where I can find spoils for the other endings? Perhaps PM me.

Basically, you can find someone to hate anything. There are people who thought DA2 was worse than DA1 for gods' sake. The fact that there are people on the bioware forums pissed about the ending just tells me that:

A) There are people on the bioware forums
and
B) The game has an ending.

A little off topic, but didn't MANY people prefer DA1 to DA2? I don't think that was just one of those minority things.

They seem to have unlocked all the digital extras for the digital deluxe edition. So I a going to listen to the soundtrack allday at work. :-D

Also EW recut one of the trailers so it would star one of our favorite Shepard's.

Well, I've just started playing.

Spoiler:
Looks like we're getting the team back together. Liara, Kaiden, and Garrus so far. Plus some random muscle-head who keeps lapsing into Spanish for some reason.

The premise on this one is a bit weird. Earth has been suddenly attacked Pearl Harbour style and is having its arse kicked. Surely by the time Shepherd has rounded up enough allies and built this doomsday device, Earth will be nothing but a smouldering ruin, and all the humans melted down into reaper goo? Not to mention all the other alien planets they seem to be hitting just as hard.

Again: proxies and VPNs (are they the same thing?) are your friends. Specifically a Hong Kong proxy because they got it first. You only need to be connected to it for the initial activation.

Started playing it around 6 PM, and it's now just after 2 AM.

I won't spoil any plot points, but I will say that the game feels far less open than the previous two. There are still loads of quests (I think I have 12 active right now), but there's a definitely a feel of "THIS is the main story" to some quests, and a decidedly less urgent feel to most others. But... those of you worried about gear customization need not worry at all. It's a damn fine system with a good combination of new weapons and TONS of weapon upgrades and modifications. They took all the good things about the inventory from ME1 and made them better, and took out the bad things like the endless lists of the same weapons.

Loving it so far.

Goddammit. It won't start. The demo had no problem but fucking Origin won't boot the game after dicking with stuff for an hour. :-( I have to go to sleep now, maybe it will magically fix itself in the next 16 hours or so.

EDIT: Hooray! Apparently SecuROM thought my anti-virus was some sort of piracy tool.

If what I posted earlier doesn't work, search "proxy" in Windows, click: configure proxy server -> LAN settings -> check use a proxy server and put in 210.176.171.237 with port 8080. Or any other proxy address you can find. It should be unlockable on a US proxy by now, but the one above is for Hong Kong. It's the one I used because the FlyVPN free account was being overwhelmed by people trying to activate ME3, and it was locking people out.

EA hatched this devilish plan to spy on the users. The only problem, they mentioned it in the EULA, and everyone freaked out, forcing them to issue a verbal backtrack. In order to hide their true activities of system observation, they had to develop a way to disable system safeguards, and what better way then by saying that it is actually a piracy tool!"

Just kidding. It probably sees the system monitoring following similar protocols to certain piracy tools.
