Ok, I'll wait for John Citizen to be around. I'm slightly worried about scum stealing a roleblock or a redirect - any ways to avoid this? I'm thinking I might have to just trust cjdrum and JC and one of them can roleblock TLC. Downside is we then definitely lose if either of them are scum.

It's refractor, gorramit. I can't target this power to anyone, since it's a passive action that copies whatever night action is sent to me and uses it against the sender. Plus the night action doesn't get blocked, so if webby did the poison, it means that we're both poisoned. Whatever "can't roleblock" means, I'm fairly sure the refractor wouldn't work well. Doctoring would work well. Or the antidote.

What I meant was that you use a reflector tonight on webby. Also, webby wouldn't be poisoned if you are truthful, misnomer would. (I know that cjdrum is truthful).

New plan:
TLC uses bus driver between CJ/JC, the town one/s of CJ/JC kills TLC and webby self-protects. This seems to at least give a 50/50 shot D3, and TLC can only get to D3 and win in certain rare circumstances, including that TLC was not poisoned. Any noticeable flaws?

The problem is that self-protecting is equivalent to making yourself bulletproof, which we've already been told is game-breaking. Is there any difference if the town one of CJ/JC protects me and I kill TLC? Not sure what TLC does yet.

Five hours until deadline I think?

Regarding Bulletproof:
I've decided to allow it on the condition that it only lasts for one night and you cannot use it multiple nights straight.

Also, it's preferable that the kill is submitted by the town one of CJ/JC. Saying why will decrease the probablilty of winning somewhat.

So, do we agree:

Lynch mpolo
TLC bus-drivers CJ/JC
CJ/JC kills TLC
Webby self-protects

1 hour and 5 minutes until deadline.

I bet that's fine by me. Most of the plans in our sleeves involve mpolo and me being killed anyway.

I can think of a way we lose in that case. But I don't think I can help that, and I need to pick someone to trust. So if you're around in the next hour, do you want to vote for mpolo and I'll hammer immediately?

I'm not actually sure if it's deadline, because it's weekend.

The deadline is around 40 minutes.
I've changed the deadline from 7 days not including weekends, to nine days.

Final Vote Count of the Day:
mpolo (3) - tastelikecoke, cjdrum, webby

Not Voting (2) - mpolo, John Citizen

mpolo has been lynched.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was then decided that mpolo was to be lynched.
The man appeared again. "mpolo this time? So be it."

Slowly, he raised up his arm and lifted the "Bolt of Truth" and fired it at mpolo.
There was a big flash of light, but as the bolt was going to hit mpolo, it delected and hit the man.

The man vanished and a note was left at the side. "Ibarra is the Mod."
mpolo appeared suddenly and tossed away the baseball bat he just used to deflect the bolt.

"You may have foiled our plans this time, but this world will get destroyed! After all, your precious mod is dead!"
With a puff of smoke he vanished. The Land of Dreams was safe for now...
mpolo - Nightmare - Lynched - Day 2

Suddenly the alarm clock rings. It's already morning? That was some crazy dream...

cjdrum - Dreamer - Survived
John Citizen - Dreamer - Survived
webby - Dreamer - Survived
tastelikecoke - Dreamer - Survived

Dreamers Win!

Roles:
Spoiler:
1. cjdrum - Dreamer
2. John Citizen - Dreamer
3. Hausdog - Dreamer
4. webby - Dreamer
5. Misnomer - Nightmare
6. mpolo - Nightmare
7. tastelikecoke - Dreamer

Actions:
Spoiler:
[Protect] [Investigate] [Kill] [Redirect] [Copy] [Communicate] [Conceal] [Falsify] [Upgrade] [Restrict] [Convert Action]
Day 1:
Lynched Hausdog

Night 1:
- webby Poisons [Kill] tastelikecoke.[SUCCEED] - tastelikecoke will die in N2 unless protected.
- Misnomer Faction Kills webby. [SUCCEED]
- Misnomer Kills [Kill] cjdrum.[FAILED] - Ninja'd by webby
- cjdrum Bus Drives [Redirection] Misnomer and webby. [SUCCEED] - Misnomer targets himself with Faction Kill.
- John Citizen Tracks [Investigation] webby. [SUCCEED] - Shifted to Misnomer - Result: "Misnomer targets himself".
- tastelikecoke uses Mirror Move [Copy]. [SUCCEED] - First action targeting tastelikecoke will also target those who used it on him - webby gets Poisoned too.
- mpolo Roleblocks [Restrict] tastelikecoke. [SUCCEED] - tastelikecoke's action will no longer work - webby is no longer Poisoned.

Day 2:
Lynched mpolo

Comments:
Spoiler:
Night 1 really decided everything. cjdrum's Bus Drive on webby was very timely. It made Misnomer kill himself. That redirection decided the game.
mpolo could have defended himself more. I think I've made some sort of possible defense in the Spoiler thread.

Incidentally, what if I host another one with no "first categorical action sent in gets priority"? Comments on this?

Personally, I think a change in the rules would get me more interested in this. Maybe change from first action in gets priority, change it so that any and all duplicate actions won't work. So if 2 people send in a kill action, they both lose their action.

Was interesting to watch, especially the N1 actions!

I think maybe it could be improved if you got rid of the 'fastest first' element to the actions, instead perhaps having a random player priority order generated each night. Alternatively, you could go to the other extreme and run this as a real time nightless game. :P

All in all though, it was an enjoyable setup. :)

That was incredibly chaotic (in a good way). Great game, thanks Ibarra!

When I signed up, I was thinking of ridiculous actions, like having the mod announce that I was dead to no effect, turning random players into survivors, or creating a cult that did nothing (like the one in HSWTF mafia). Once I started playing the game, though, I decided on actions that would actually be useful.

Also, first real win! (I was modkilled in wizardry)

I think an interesting variant would be to have each power somewhat like an inventor role, with a player submitting an action like Paint self green or Throw forks at player x. The mod would then decide what each action actually does.

Yeah thanks for running it Ibarra.

I think it would be good if we got around the 'first person to submit the action' gets it rule, The limit of one per category is necessary so you don't have way too many kills in scum hands. I like GoP's idea of 'you don't get it if multiple people go for the same category'.

Misnomer got very unlucky, nice work by cjdrum!

The whole time zone thing sapped my will there at the end. Knowing that it was essentially impossible to get any night power and having had the town totally turned on me, I couldn't summon the will to say anything.

I don't really like the game to hinge on something so outside of our control. The setup was intriguing, though, and fairly handled by Ibarra. Thanks for the game.

I'm going to be basically gone from Friday until practically September -- I may check in mid-month, but not enough time to participate in anything. See you all then.

I'm going to consider the "Multiple actions of same category cancel the action."
That is going to be fun and winey.

cjdrum's luck really blowed the game away either way. This somehow reminds me of dethy where instead of pushing players for tells it just depends on each person's claims. This setup would be fun if it's fixed I think.
