My home town was up in the north in AOL, once I started school I decided to go to Wikipedia U. After graduation, I explored the world a little bit, I spent a lot of time on the islands between the Sea of Memes and the Ocean of Subcultures. I finally settled a little bit north of there in WoW, but I have a country house on the western continent in Facebook.
How about you guys?

Basically I looked at the map and thought back to how I started out on the internet, where my friend made me sign up for Yahoo Games. Then I discovered chat rooms. The rest of it is somewhat out of sequence in regards to my actual travels across the web, but those are all the stops I made.

So how much extra do we have to pay to ensure our/our favorite sites are mapped?

I'm really sick of seeing people link to it or rehost it without giving credit where credit is due.

Your soul. To Belial. Attach a note explaining why, or he'll just eat it and "forget" you wrote anything. Also, if you can write raptor, it'll make his job easier.

Um...what? I don't quite get what you're asking for.

There's non-slash fanfic. Indeed, I have written some (... am in the process of writing some?)
In fact, if you consider the Cthulhu Mythos to be "Fanfiction", which by some definitions it is, the majority of fanfiction would not be on slash island.
HOWEVER, if we are talking about only fanfiction found on the Internet, then sadly a high percentage of fanfiction is to be found there. An equally high if not greater percentage is horrifically bad mary-sue self-insertion fanfiction.
Then there's the miniscule amount which is neither slash nor bad mary-sue.
... why do I know this? I don't even READ This stuff and I only have ONE unfinished draft of a fanfic. The closest I usually get are the 5+ Livejournal RP's that I'm a part of.
... oh god, I've just proved that I'm a horrible person.

/. is near the viral straits and the bay of trolls, just north of Soviet Russia.
Ronfar wrote:There's one guy on fanfiction.net that I read that's actually an amazing writer - better than many published authors I've read. Whatever his real job is, he should quit and write full time. His unfinished Discworld fanfic is every bit as amazing as the works of the original author.
Anyway, I was simply wondering if all online fanfiction communities were on the Isle of Slash, as I don't see a specific other location for them.
I just had a disturbing thought. Are /. and the "Isle of Slash" connected? I sincerely hope not...

well i know that, but slashdot is a part of sourceforge. shouldnt it be included there instead of being separate?
