Fantasy football went all wrong, overcome with injured players who I forgot to transfer out in the past weeks.

Was forced to play my wildcard: http://i.imgur.com/7BZkh6T.png

I find it very amusing that Mexico has USA to thank for having a chance to qualify. Must be a day of strange emotions for fans from both countries.

Hey remember when Liverpool was at the top of the table and still undefeated? :P

They still have a chance to win the Prem but Arsenal's going strong and seems Man U has found their form.

I still think it'll be Chelsea or Man City battling for the title in the end, but pleased to beat Livepool yesterday.

Haha, we won't win the Prem. Arsenal can challenge, but Chelsea are still my pick.

Not bothered about the loss yesterday, top 4 is still the aim and we're still on target for that I feel.

Merseyside derby today!

Got my red on, going to my Everton-fan-friend's house to watch it.

Got a good feeling about today. Gerrard on the scoresheet.

Fantasy Football End-of-Season Update

With 13 points more in the final week than the guy previously leading the table, I won by 11 points!

Also Liverpool finished second in the Prem and I'm incredibly excited about next season.

Another year goes by and another year where I lose interest around December and forget to keep updating my team.

Maybe next year.

Also, so gutted for Liverpool. Coming so close and not getting the top. It's going to be even harder next year, especially if Man Utd. show up. Will be great for neutrals* though.

On the "neutrals" angle, it amused me how many United fans were supporting City over the weekend, hahaha.

It's fair enough though, I'd support Everton over United any day of the week

I'm a Chelsea fan and I really wanted Liverpool to win it.

I've never really got the I support every team that plays (insert rival team) mentality.

So who do we think is coming in to what teams over the summer? Who do Man U need to focus on bringing in? Better defense, more strikers and sell some midfielders?

Eh, as a Liverpool fan.. fuck United. I couldn't be happier with how their season went down and I hope they do just as well next year.

I couldn't speak for United, but Liverpool need an additional CB (I can see Agger or Skrtel being sold) and first-team quality depth everywhere.
Having Borini back will be good. I'm excited to see what Suso can do in a red shirt after a positive time on loan, too.

I really do try not to take pleasure in other sides failing but as my side is never going to achieve much again, Leeds for my sins (which must have been many and large but which I somehow don't have the pleasure of remembering committing). That said I can't help but smile at the position United ended up in.

PRIDE IN BATTLE WANKERS!

YNWA = YOU'LL NEVER WIN AGAIN

I'm not even a Man City fan, but what a finish! Despite what I said above (merely jesting) I wouldn't have minded Liverpool taking the Prem. But come on, losing a 3 goal lead to Crystal Palace? Maybe time will prove me wrong but this is as close as Liverpool was going to get so who knows how long it will be before they actually win.

Eh, depth has been our problem all season. The entire team was knackered in that game :(

And I disagree with your final point. Our form in 2014 (as in.. since January) has been astounding. The team is only going to get better. Being in Europe will only ensure we definitely get more depth and as long as we get a little lucky regarding injuries/bans, we can use that depth in the league too. I honestly expect us to be a force in the league next year.

The Palace game was irrelevent - as soon as Gerard did an oopsie I switched off, game and season over

Someone should have told rodgers that grinding out a tedious 0-0 draw against Chelsea was a more than acceptable result :)

That was me in second place, I think. Belated congratulations!

I thoroughly enjoyed the cup final, which was a happy surprise. I've seen too many dull finals since my first (Liverpool 3-2 Everton AET, a hard one to live up to).

Surely we need to talk about Atletico Madrid and Diege SImeone here. It is easily the most stunning, incredible title win in football history for the last decade. I am not even an Atletico fan and I felt so excited watching the final game.

They were denied the title by the Malaga keeper's amazing performance last week. This game they lost two key players in the first half and conceded a goal to an outrageous rocket of a strike. Somehow they came out more determined and pressed with sheer intensity, grabbed a goal, and kept their nerve for the rest of the game. I want to know what Diego SImeone said to the players at half time.

They didn't outplay them, and the Croatia keeper was at fault for all three goals. The referee did have a bad game though, especially with the penalty.

You can't judge a team on solely their first game - Spain lost their first game in 2010. Italy and France had fairly poor group stages in 2006 (and Italy did so in 1982 as well). Brazil are clearly beatable, but it's too early to draw firm conclusions about teams' chances.

I don't think Croatia outplayed Brazil, but the ref was terrible. That penalty was absurd, and I believe the third goal originated from a foul.

And yeah, Brazil still is one of the favorites. Playing at home, the squad is somewhat solid and that old fox Scolari coaching is always a factor.
