she doesn't fall in love with pan. she pretty firmly dislikes him.
and...fuck me, that person is very silly. also,

It is a proven fact that some sex-perverts set fires (arson) because it sexually excites them. They get excited from all the firetrucks, lights, sirens, etc. It may sound crazy, but it's true. The same is also true of movies like NARNIA and Pan's Labyrinth.

irrelevant? sure, why not.

i don't like the person who wrote this article at all.

His rants on Disney are fantastic. It really does amaze me every time I come across such close-mindedness; I just kind of forget it exists.

What Mr. Stewart fails to realize is that Pan resembles Satan because, in order to ostracize those that hadn't converted to Christianity yet (Mostly living in rural areas), urban Romans demonized popular gods, calling them the idols of "pagani," countrymen or peasants.

In other words, Pan looks like Satan in some accounts because of propaganda, nothing more.

But I'm trying to counter a Fundie with common sense and historical fact. Silly me.

I'll just lol and be on my way.

Yeah. There's no logic to anything these people say. No point acting like there is.

Anyone check out the Narnia one? C.S Lewis was couching evil satanic metaphor behind the pretense of Christian metaphor. That poor man is turning in his grave right now.

Notice below on Ozzy Osborne's album cover that he uses the RAM (curved horns). Do you really think it a coincidence the Paul McCartney placed a RAM on his album cover? Clearly, the music industry has an infatuation with Satanic symbolism.

I never realized how corrupt and Satanic I was, until he pointed it out to me.

I think it's *more* important to note that we've neglected the biggest satanist of all.

Others have put satanic imagery, in the form of goats and goat-like things, in visual art, and movies, and statuary, but only *one* person has created *living* goat imagery...a mockery of all things holy in the form of an *actual goat*, a living, breathing, tin-can eating tribute to Satan.

That's right, as the creator of all living things, intact and in their current form, Yahweh, the Sky-father God of the Hebrews, Christians, and Muslims, is the biggest Satanist of them all. We should boycott that guy, hardcore.

I love how he rants on about how Pan is supposed to represent the devil. OF COURSE HE REPRESENTS THE DEVIL! THAT'S THE POINT OF THE DAMN MOVIE! Just because a movie uses the devil as a symbol doesn't mean it's satanist! You use the word "Devil" all the time on your webpage, so by your logic, you're a satanist!

And he was a bit slow on the whole "Ozzy Osbourne is a Satanist" thing.

Yep, Pan looks like Satan because Satan was made to look like Pan.

Which one comes first? The cart, or the horse? I keep forgetting.

Satanic sexual abuse, ritual murders, child pedophile rings, money-laundering—could these horrors be happening today

I... I don't think that money-laundering is quite on the same level as pedophilia. It's one thing to get all bent out of shape because "Oh My God the bad men are hurting our children!" but "Those fiends! Their satanic rituals center around... dishonest banking!" doesn't have the same pathos.

Everybody knows it's cheaper to use heathens as slaves than horses. After all, we're saving them from hell!

Y'know, not only that, but he actually created Satan himself. If that's not Satanistic, I don't know what is.

A theological argument that's been falling on deaf ears for centuries, I'll wager.

(PS. The Faun isn't called Pan. That word was only added to the English title by marketers and such, the correct title being "The Labyrinth of the Faun" - a faun which remains unnamed throughout the film, as confirmed by Del Toro.)

Also true. He was just a generic faun at a far-flung faerie outpost.

This thread is now about how awesome that film is (as opposed to how retarded that depressingly stupid Christian extremist is).

Ok.

It was awesome. My favorite is seeing who will/won't believe in the existence of the faun (etc.) -- del Toro said he'd left it ambigous enough for the viewer to reach their own conclusion, but that he 'believes'.

Why are you giving this person traffic?

I knew there was a problem when I read the phrase "proven fact".

Well maybe I knew before then, but still...

Actually, in the Old Testament(and the Gospels--I'm ignoring Revelations here), Satan is merely the prosecutor, trying to tempt people off the path so God can more easily know who the real Christians are. Satan wasn't a fallen angel until the idiot who wrote Revelations(not Chris Cornell though--I'm pretty sure he's an ex-Christian anyways), who confused Satan with that snake in Genesis.

In addition, having actually read quite a bit of the Bible, I can tell you that anyone who takes it literally is denying not only logical thought but the Bible itself.
