Dear God Why??

Postby Narsil » Mon Apr 30, 2007 12:10 am UTC

You want to see the most painful video ever?
It doesn't have anyone getting hit in the crotch or killed, but this video may make you want to kill yourself.
It's a video introducing Windows '95, starring Jennifer Aniston and Mathew Perry. It hurts. I alternated between laughing hysterically and crying.

You've been warned.

anything said in a "I am almost laughing voice!" is just so annoying
But yes... that is pretty painful..

There are another three parts to the video, but honestly I'm not sure if the human psyche is capable of that.

So looking out for my compatriots' safety, I refrained from posting.

What about this?

It's kinda old, but I don't know how widely it was circulated. ;-)

(This one wasn't meant for public consumption; it was just an internal MS joke.)

Windows 1.0 was $99? Don't things normally get cheaper with age? See ipod.

Actually, that's about the same price, at least for the upgrade edition of Windows Home/Home Premiu (which is now the full edition price too).
$99 in 1984 dollars is $193 in 2006 dollars. (They don't do 2007 dollars, so I calculated one year previous.)

Amazingly enough, Wikipedia states that Windows 1.0 went unsupported Dec 31, 2001.

How lame would it have been to be the guy leading the support staff for 3.0...in 2001?

It was new then, started in 1994.

That video is probably the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. Thanks.

That reminds me of this Windows 386 promo video! It stops being not hilarious at the 7 minute mark.

<3 Microsoft.
One of these days my desk is going to collapse in the middle and all its weight will come down on my knee and tear my new fake ACL. It could be tomorrow. This is my concern.

Actually my aunt runs a very old version since they don't want to buy a new box and it works for them. It must be around that time it was made.

I couldn't make it that long, but I think that might be the pair of beers on an empty stomach.

On an unrelated note, my compy seems to have grown a second screen in the last few minutes.

I actually watched the whole thing, and it was hilarious. I loved the puns. "Not a piece of microsoft hardware was stirring, not even a mouse" Priceless!

My grandma had a computer with 3.1 on it for I don't know how many years, and then a year or two ago my grandpa got her Windows 98.
