This comic reminded me of a question I had forgotten about until recently.

Everybody accepts that all else being equal, taller fathers have taller daughters and fatter mothers have fatter sons, etc.

But what about genitalia? Does a father with a big penis have a daughter with a big vaginal cavity or is it "tighter" because there are bigger labia? Same question applies in reverse for mothers and their sons.

The cross-sex analogue of the penis is the clitoris; the analogue of the labia minora is the foreskin; the analogue of the labia majora is the scrotum. Insofar as a father's genes for a large penis would influence a daughter, it would promote a larger clitoris; it would have no obvious effect on the vaginal canal.

I like the font in the diagrams, and now I have to check for in previous columns to see if he's used it before.

I went to see what font shows up by default on my browser. The 'a' is the same, but the 'g' is not.

Are you sure? If so you must have a lousy imagination. http://xkcdsucks.blogspot.com/2009/09/comic-631-what-fuck.html. It's basically "jesus, Randall, what is this obsession with sex?", "the joke seems like a poor excuse to draw naked people" and "xkcd jumped the shark". Honestly, though, I sort of agree with it, even though they exaggerate a bit. I mean, I see the joke, and it is kind of funny. It's not the fact that it isn't hilarious that bothers me - Randall is also allowed a few mistakes now and then. However, I can't really identify with the premise of the joke. (I know the sentence doesn't make all that much sense, I'm sorry. Not a native speaker.) I don't spend all that much time viewing nude photos on Wikipedia, and a bit after I chuckled at the joke, I was really more unsettled that Randall spent so much time viewing nude photos that he was able to spot trends in them. So yeah. This comic wasn't one of my favorites.

Long time reader, first time poster.

I use google reader to view this and i do attend to agree that a warning would have been nice. However, i do find it funny, but it wasn't until i read the alt-text that i fully understood what was going on, since i do not use Wikipedia for porn.

Now for everybody freaking out about this. I think you all need to chill. For one, you won't get fired over a little comic. IF someone does tell on you. When the IT people come to do their sweeps and scans on all the 'sites' you visited, they will noticed no porn sites. If they happen to come across this comic page in the history, they will most likely laugh because they too have seen the picture. And then go and report that they found nothing and the person who reported you would proably get in trouble.

How do i know this??? Because i for one work in that part of my IT branch. If reports of misuse happens, than i go and investigate.

Went to look xkcd on my break at job. This is the last time I'm checking the site from the job. A bit disapointed at xkcd... The joke was good but inapropriate. We receive clients that can get a glimpse at the content of my screen.

Would have appreciated some kind of a warning... like "mature content" and then a big arrow pointing down to make people scroll down with their browser or something like that.

Don't think I'm the only one thinking that.

I have been a fan of xkcd since the beginning and I have to say : Keep on the good work Randall ! ...but please try to keep this at a decent level.
