Given that the auction actually finished at Oct-04-07 22:14:11 PDT, and the comic is released at a close time (dunno what hour), I think statistically I think something about that must be related to comic.
Edit: Also take into account the possible similar situations that make occour that would give you equal surprise. That makes it more of an absolute value, in the sense that looking at one case not in relation to others isn't statistically significant because your basing that value on your emotion of surprise and not proportions of times that you could be surprised.
