NaNoWriMo 2012

Postby Kewangji » Wed Oct 31, 2012 4:26 pm UTC

Noticed there wasn't a thread for this. So.

NATIONAL NOVEL WRITING MONTH
The challenge of 50k words in 30 days

There's about 7 hours left until it starts here in the UK. I will be writing a planetary romance about how difficult it is to grow wings.

Anyone else doing it this year?

Doing it, writing in Norwegian for once. Planning on playing around with the fairytale genre and generally throwing in as many lesser well-known mythological creatures as I can.

You should. :D If your location is correct, you've got about 11 hours to plan. That's plenty.

Also, people should add me to their buddy list: http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/kewangji

I tend to pick rivals from the buddy list and try and beat their word counts, and adjust who is my rival every now and then to maximize word spewage.

That sounds awesome. I will write in Swedish next year – though one of my characters this year has a Norwegian name. It is 'Ikkje Nok' and his wife leaves him because he's not enough.

I shall be keeping my eye on this thread, although I don't want to be constrained by making any promises to ever post/read/think-about/discuss/photograph/diagram/i-think-my-point-has-most-likely-been-conveyed . . . anything related to nanowrimo 2012.

Doing it as well.

Mine's a detective novel set in an alternate Canada where almost everyone has Avatar:The Last Airbender type powers.
