Two food combinations..

Postby darkonc » Wed Dec 02, 2015 4:51 am UTC

re: xkcd comic 1609 (*newbie cannot provide direct link)

I have a two food combination that almost nobody FAILS to challenge.

Blueberry Yogurt, and HotDogs.

Yes, I tried it (on a dare). Yes it's good (I previously disliked yogurt, and this incident caused me to rethink it.. Yogurt is now on my list of 'comfort foods').

and I don't think I've ever come across someone who believed me without a good deal of cajoling. In the incident where I tested it, a second person tried it -- based on my adamant recommendation -- and even the two of us combined couldn't get anybody else to try it.

I once had black current jello and chocolate ice cream given to me as dessert. Verdict, not inedible.
Don’t become a well-rounded person. Well rounded people are smooth and dull. Become a thoroughly spiky person. Grow spikes from every angle. Stick in their throats like a puffer fish.

As a child (and sometimes as an adult) my brothers and I would often use ketchup and cottage cheese as a pasta sauce. It's pretty great.
Mighty Jalapeno: "See, Zohar agrees, and he's nice to people."
SecondTalon: "Still better looking than Jesus."

Texture-wise I might question that, but - if done right - the flavors are already compatible. Not having had black currant jello, I can't say how close they get the taste.

My own:
Growing up I had a fondness for drinking things like lemonade or orange juice when I had chocolate chip cookies and brownies. I've never found anyone willing to try it, but I still enjoy it.

flaming hot Cheetos (clubs not puffs) dipped in strawberry yogurt.

Sounds strange, is actually pretty tasty.

They did this on Buzzfeed if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, I like dipping chips in vanilla ice cream. :)

I was going to suggest McDonalds Fries dipped in their Vanilla milkshake.. so maybe they should make potato, salt, and vanilla ice-cream.

...hmm....I wonder how much extra energy is required to generate that request...We need a cost/benefit analysis, STAT!

Good one! We can only imagine the kind of feedback that would get from people. Haha.
