The Music of 2013

It's only cool if no one's heard of it.

*clears throat* I'm pretty sure this is my favorite year for music that I have been aware during. How so? Let me inject your brain with awesome 2013 muziks

David Bowie:
James Blake:
The Knife:
Autre Ne Veut:
Daft Punk:
Youth Lagoon:
Boards of Canada:
Vampire Weekend:
The Weeknd:

Plus friggin Neutral Milk Hotel reunited!

But that is just a taste of 2013, dive into it and feel it's greatness.

New Queens of the Stone Age came out recently. A sort of preview with animation is available here.

I really like it, but I'm hearing a lot of "Their old stuff was better." Of course it was. Songs for the Deaf was their magnum opus. That doesn't mean everything that comes afterwards is shit; the albums are all still high up in the treetops, a high above their contemporaries.

Got this one, gave it a couple of listens so far. If I were more of a fan of Daft Punk I would really like this. Since the most I can say is that I've enjoyed some of their stuff now and then, that's about all I can say for this album. It's good enough to play for company but it's not going to hold my interest for long.

A Perfect Circle - By & Down

Let's just say...when I heard this song on the radio, I'm glad I was driving alone, because I screamed like a teenage girl at a backstreet boys concert. Or whatever they listen to these days.

Sadly, it is the only new song, appearing on a best-of album. Fortunately, it is a new song by APC.

I know it's unusual to hear from fans of both bands, but I prefer APC over Tool.

Korn just released a new album. It's meh, however. I don't think it's so bad, and I did like the dubstep one, but this one doesn't seem remarkable to me.
