"Cavemen" Sitcom Based on GEICO Cavemen Ads

Postby Princess Marzipan » Fri Jun 15, 2007 5:14 pm UTC

This makes me as happy as a little girl eating candy while wearing a lovely pink sundress on a warm summer's day.

My favorite "cavemen" ad is the one with the guys talking on the balcony, and another cavemen interrupts from the door and says "Hey guys, Tina's here - we're getting back together!" I love it because you can tell they're not really getting back together; he just thinks they are. :P
"It's Saturday night. I've got no date, a two-liter of Shasta, and my all-Rush mixtape. Let's rock!"
"I am just about to be brilliant!"

Lovely.

But I predict a 0% chance a show like that will have more than six episodes.

Or at least I really hope not.

i like these guys for commercials much in the same way i like ATHF as a short show.

I didn't like the ATHF movie (too long for that type of humor), i will probably feel the same way about the cavemen show.

Subsequently, my favorite commercial is where a caveman is at the therapist's office and his mom calls.

What doesn't incite you to eat candy while wearing a sundress. Oh, happy as... ahem.

If it's written as well as the commercials, while not actually trying to feed off of them, I think it could do pretty well. It is, however, the kind of show that screams "this is going to be 3 commercials per show with tons of filler".

No, no. Actually wearing a sundress makes me feel FREE. Not happy. Happy is a side effect. :P

I'd watch it once just to see what it's like. Unless they come up with something new, then the joke is really best left to 30 minute segments.

I'm suddenly reminded of the SNL skit Frozen Caveman Lawyer

Speaking of the Caveman Lawyer sketch. I had a PoliSci professor that told us all once that when he was in law school his professor asked him a question he had no idea about so he stood up and said "Dr. So and So, I'm just a caveman etc..."

Oh my God, I LOVED those sketches!

"I don't know much about your fancy technology. I'm just a caveman who was unfrozen from a block of ice, introduced to your advanced world." (<--horribly inaccurate)

Phil Hartman ftw.

I can only assume that the Geico marketing execs have a higher opinion of the average Canadian's intelligence.

The States also have the Gecko, we have both advertising campaigns running concurrently.

The gecko has been reserved for select TV channels and radio ads, whereas the cavemen ads take up other channels.
