The agent Ballard beats on is Badger! I knew I'd seen him before.

I didn't even recognize that. I knew he was a jerk in Leverage and Burn Notice and other things I'm sure. I totally forgot Badger though.

Ballard...

Spoiler:
... fights a lot like an active, no? If he is one though, it makes no sense for Dollhouse LA to be running him. Maybe another (rival? overseeing?) Dollhouse elsewhere?

I actually haven't ruled DeWitt out. We don't know nearly enough about her motivations to say either way - to the point where if we knew she sent the message, we still couldn't know whether it is was entirely true or just a method to throw off Ballard.

I'd have Alpha on that list. At the very least, I'm sure he was involved. Whether he actually has an ally on the inside or not, I'm not sure yet. For some reason the "someone on the inside" part of the message just felt like misdirection, but I'm not discounting it entirely, either.

Spoiler:
Well, the episode list on Wikipedia seems to suggest there's gonna be an episode with a spy in the Dollhouse

Can we avoid information about shows that *haven't aired yet*? Or at least indicate that that kind of information is what's behind your spoiler tag.

Most tags are 'spoilering' shit I already know because I watched the show last week. But I don't want to see stuff from other sources, for the same reason I turn the damn TV off when Fox starts trying to tell me why I need to watch next week. I AM GOING TO WATCH NEXT WEEK. I WILL FIND THIS OUT THEN.

Updated my post by your request. But really, is it that much of a deal? I mean

Spoiler:
We know that the mole is probably real, because telling Ballard the Dollhouse is real and there's a spy inside and that he has to go about finding information about it another way isn't exactly gonna cause him to back off, if you attack his girlfriend or not

Actually there's been quite some conjecture about exactly that. You're basically confirming what we're wondering based on what we already know, but you're using it with information we don't know yet.

I prefer learning these things by WATCHING THE SHOW. Not by searching out answers before they're revealed in the tapestry of the story. The thing about interpretations is that everybody is working from the same set of information - the previously aired episodes. I like being reminded of things that may have escaped my notice. That's vastly different from having future information.

Thanks for the edit, and in advance for adding such notes to future conjectures based on such information.

My reason for believing it's a real message is that it gave Ballard accurate information that he didn't already have, namely about multiple dollhouses, which was later confirmed by DeWitt.

Jesse wrote:So what you're saying is you hate spoiler tags, unless lack of them spoils something for you.

Well, no. I dislike clicking spoiler tags in every post that discusses an episode that just aired. But they're ubiquitous and so I click them, because I'm not going to get upset at people using them. But then I see a spoiler tag just like every other spoiler tag that I click because I'm caught up, and it spoils something because it references information that HASN'T aired yet, ANYWHERE.

But I think I'm talking in circles, so you can IM me if you want me to verbally pummel away your sense of righteous self-satisfaction in thinking you have one-upped me. =)

... But you were saying spoiler tags were unnecessary. Now they're necessary if they say something that you don't know about. So the schedule for whether spoiler tags are appropriate is now officially What Nougat Has Seen. Fuck all those people in those other crazy foreign countries, or who are going to watch it on DVD, or who have it waiting for them on TiVo, for all of whom seeing a spoiler from the US airing schedule is just as bad as it is for you to hear about something unaired. But fuck them, lets organise all the spoilers according to Nougat's schedule, because Nougat is the centre of the universe and we wouldn't want to slightly inconvenience you in any way at all.

This is a pretty good point. Any information could easily have been falsified and this didn't need to be mentioned.

Seriously, Saladin?
The Heroes thread specifies that there needn't be spoilers for episodes already aired *in the US.* I assumed this thread would follow a similar convention. I don't see you bitching up a storm in THAT thread. (Because I don't read it, because there are spoilers.)

Heroes has more than one thread since a whole lot of people watch it. One of them is the US schedule thread. This is the only Dollhouse thread, for everybody, since it has a small audience and isn't worth splitting.

I don't see another Heroes thread. There are a few with "hero" in the title in the first ten pages of the forum. The one on the first page, a short one that notes spoilers from season one, a thread about a graphic novel tie-in for season two, and a thread asking for help finding a heroes interview.

If they are, they're either buried ten pages deep, or the phrase "hero" does not appear in the title.

FWIW, I completely support *groan* Princess Marzipan. (sorry, it's so saccharine! Will take me a while to get used to the name :) )

It makes perfect sense to declare a thread as "spoilers for episodes aired in the US" or "spoilers for anything aired" and then including interviews or whatever. But there's a place for this distinction and just putting *everything* under spoiler tags isn't a good one.

I, for one, watch the show (as I do most shows) by d/loading them. I know there's a chance I will see spoilers so I avoid the threads between the time a new episode has aired and the time I see it, only then do I check the thread. But extra information, that is unavailable from watching the show itself, I would expect to see heavily declared and spoilered, such as revealing Alpha's identity out of the blue.

There's a new episode where we find out that S agreed to become a doll because she was raped and wanted to forget it. This came up when she mentioned the sexing with her old handler to E. A big stink began because a detail she mentioned about the clothing she was wearing at the time indicated she might have been talking about the incident with her handler or the rape that she shouldn't remember. A great deal of time is spent going through her old effects to find out which. I came here intending to give a trigger warning about the new episode, as the description of S's rape was fairly graphic, when i realized that i had dreamed this whole episode. That certainly explains why my sister and i had a cameo appearance.

After last nights episode I will concede that I was wrong about Dominic being the one who put the message in Echo. However, he still suffers from a bad case of idiotic villain syndrome.

And Mellie is easily the prettiest girl on the show.

I do like Mellie as well. I think she doesn't have a (specific?) handler because she seems to have a deep cover job, so she isn't constantly going in for treatments.
I want to see how the others joined the dollhouse because the only 2 stories we know are people who tried to mess with it. (or their sponsors whatever)
I wanted a signature. I don't know what to put here yet.
