Things you lose easily

Postby J the Ninja » Fri Apr 24, 2009 7:48 pm UTC

I can't find my sunglasses. God knows what I did with them. I had them with me when I left my car, but they are nowhere to be found now. They evidently got misplaced when I got up to go to the campus bakery. I swear, if I tried to own a pair of sunglasses at all times, I would be spending $80-100 a year on these things. I lose them that easily. Btw, does anyone think the curved kind of sunglasses get lost easier than the ones shaped like normal glasses?

In any case, what are some other things you are constantly misplacing?

My tweezers. I swear, they turn invisible whenever I need them, only to re-appear days later, exactly where I left them. :|

Pencils, my hat. Homework.

As idle as a painted ship

I actuallystole borrowed my sister's one and it's in my flat at the moment... She's going to kill me when she finds out that she doesn't have one right now. (It was an accident, I had been using it to charge my DS because I left mine in my flat and when I was packing up to go it ended up in my bag with my DS.)

I lose my phone all the time. I usually leave them in my pants pocket and they end up getting put in the wash with the rest of the laundry. I have given up on buy nice phones.

The left part of a pair of something, my specs, the CD I burned 5 minutes ago, labelled, and set down to get a case, my box of CD cases, my penknife, my keys, my library card, track of time, the oddest library book of the batch I check out (Making the checkout-counter lady go WTF), my half-filled cup of beverage, the last Fudgesicle in the freezer (Firefox thinks that by Fudgesicle, I mean analgesic. Of course, Firefox.), the stand for my soldering iron, my solder, my desoldering braid, the teeny tiny vital 301 ceramic capacitor, the diagram of whatever I'm making, the place in my book, my toothpaste (I have my own special toothpaste. I hate the mint toothpaste, and the rest of my family hates the baking soda toothpaste), the teabag I just got out, the kettle, my favorite teacup, my favorite calculator, my favorite pen, my freshly-opened Chapstik, and my train of thought.

Also, you ever have a 1-subject spiralbound notebook? I use those things a lot. One thing I do is if I need to write something important down, I flip it open to the middle, write, and close it. Then that page ceases to exist.

EDIT: Ninja'd on both the track of time and train of thought.

I'm constantly losing my hairbrush or straightners. Then I spend the next 10 minutes running around the house telling people there's a crisis at hand, before realising they were under my chair or on the windowsill next to my desk.
My phone charger is a real nuisance to find when needed. I have 3 of the same model scattered around the room, yet it's always a challenge.

On a side note, why do I keep reading 'pencils' as 'penis'? >_<

I constantly can't find my car keys. I'll discover after frantic searching that they are in my pocket, and my sunglasses are on my head. Also I always lose just one of everything that I own in pairs. One sock, one drumstick, one earring, one hairclip. Its very frustrating.

I rarely ever lose things. Partly because I'm good at keeping track of my belongings, partly because I've got a... relatively minor case of OCD. I check stuff. ...And re-check stuff. <__< But hey, I've never lost my keys, wallet, nor ID cards before. Not once in my entire life. :D

Although I could never find the nail clippers, especially when I had a painful hangnail. Whenever the nail clipper went missing, we would buy a replacement. Still, it would disappear after a few weeks. I discovered that my brother would use them and then never put them back where they belonged. Eventually we found a "herd" of nail clippers in his desk drawer. There were nine of them. Now one of them has a permanent spot on my keyring. The rest have found homes in drawers all over the house. And they still go missing every now and then.
...It made more sense in my head.

I have nailclippers on my keyring too - have never met anyone else who does that, glad i'm not the only one!

Likewise, i rarely lose things. Most of my important stuff (keys, phone, wallet) has defined places, and i won't usually put them anywhere different. Also, i seem to have quite a good memory for where i've put things. On the whole, for important stuff at least, i seem to be more likely to have stuff stolen than to lose it.

Memory sticks. I lose them frequently.

I also spend ages looking for my glasses in the morning. I need glasses to find them.

Earings. I have about 5 or 6 random ones scattered about my room, all half of a pair. Luckily the holes in my ears don't match up anyway so it doesn't look too odd but it's still annoying.
Also glasses, clothes, homework, library books, my books, scissors, tweezers, foundation, eyeliner, mascara, phone.
And my graphic calculator. I panicked for a week until I found it.

My glasses. Sometimes I'll take them off for one minute, but then I'll forget where I took them off. It's pretty hard to find them as well, since, in addition to running around the house checking every place I could think of, I have to squint my eyes to see anything.

My comb. I have three or four but I'm lucky if I can even find one in the morning when I want one. <y brush almost never disappears, just the comb.

And sunglasses. I only ever buy cheap ones because they're practically expendable. It doesn't help that I tend to stick them on top of my head when I get out of the sun and then forget about them. I also have a pair of prescription sunglasses, but those never leave my car because I know what would happen if they did.

I lose pencils on an average of one per class. I have a neato little pencilcase that I fill up every morning, and it's gone by the end of the day.
