Garfield parody parody

Postby JamesObscura » Sat Oct 18, 2008 9:27 pm UTC

Does anyone have a link to the parody of the garfield parody comic? I know someone made one aimed at Randall, but I have no effing clue where I saw it.
Contraceptives?

He seems to mean a comic referring to this xkcd strip. Sadly, I haven't seen one.

Wow, that hurt my eyes. One of the worst things I've ever seen.

That seemed harsher than I intended. Tigerlion, that was not aimed at you in any way, I just didn't like the comics it generated

This site is actually quite wonderful.
Totally not a hypothetical...

I thought this one was quite good. And check out the position of Garfield's hand in the last panel of this one. ((OK, maybe I just have a dirty mind...))

Randall linked to them in his "Garfield" discussion post, but the Garfield wobsite's been done up a bit, so the link's done gone broked.

The strips were published 19 years ago this week (October 23, 1989). That's older than you, average forumite. So just search that date here. Jim Davis' never done anything like it since. Or before. He totally should.
Away, you scullion! you rampallion! You fustilarian! I'll tickle your catastrophe.

This one made me laugh. Sadly, most of the rest just look disjointed and confusing.

They are. My family owned the Garfield collection that they were published in. It was from the glorious days when that strip would occasionally have something they hadn't already done a billion times.

Ditto, I remember reading those in my collection of Garfield when I was 8 or so.

That is the funniest thing I've even seen!

Also, that other official one is really good. I wish Jim Davis would do something like it again.

I think this is what the OP had in mind, at the very least it's an actual parody of the garfield parody. I just stumbled onto that comic a couple of hours after randomly checking out this thread. Must be magic.

I think the parody might have been this one:
http://garfieldminusgarfield.net/
. It's not even a parody, it's just that the removal of Garfield makes 'Garfield' funny. Otherwise it's so much commerical trash.
