That reminds me: in the book JPod (which is amazing, btw), there's a list of tetris pieces: S, Z, T, L, J, Q, bar, and square. What is the Q? Is it some "special" piece in some versions of Tetris, or did the author make *gasp* a mistake?

I can't find an appropraite thread for this and I don't want to start one. I'm dressing it up as a fleeting thought.

fleeting thought: I should really learn to sometimes keep my mouth shut around co-workers.

full story: My department went out to a comedy club last night, which was good fun. The last comedien, her entire act was very sex-focused, which fit our sense of humour just fine.
At one point, her routine was mostly taking the piss out of vegans. Of course, everyone in my department turned to look at me, the guys on either side nudged me, we were generally having a good laugh as she repeatedly insulted me without knowing it. But one line was:
"have you ever noticed that? How vegans have NO TITS?"
Well, my coworker R turned to look. Saw my coworker on the other side, D, looking pointedly away from me, embarrassed. And me looking down.

The other highlight of the evening came when the comedien said ... "everybody cheer if you like sex ... with the lights ON!"
Now, I ASSUMED people were going to cheer. The crowd had been pretty cooperative up until that point, so I assumed they would participate.
I assumed wrong.
I let out a belting "WHEYYY" realised that NOT A SINGLE OTHER PERSON IN THE ROOM had made ANY noise AT ALL. I strangled it mid cry and looked around at my department, who all looked thoroughly amused and a little bit scared. I took flak for that all the rest of the night, obviously.
I'm glad only two of them heard my very quiet cheering at "cheer if you have a sex toy"

Is the tesla a fundamental SI unit? On my physics paper there was a question that said to pick which row had only fundamental units in it. I know meters and kilograms are fundamental, but I'm not sure about amperes or volts. Nor tesla. I'm not even sure what they measure. I was thinking magnetic field strengths but isn't that gauss or something?

EDIT: "Spies sappin' mah sanwhich". I rofl'd. Hard

No, Tesla isn't a fundamental SI-unit. It does measure the magnetic field however so you are right about that. Volts aren't fundamental either, but amperes are. Gauss is a unit for flux density in a magnetic field.

Edit: I'm working 24-h shifts right now so this might be a bit confused however.

Good thing I didn't go with the "Kilogram, metre, tesla" row then. I think I went with the amperes one, but can't quite remember.

Gauss and tesla are both units for flux density. Tesla is the SI unit. Flux or magnetic field is measured in webers and measures the total strength of the magnetic field over its entire area, whereas tesla essentially measures the strength in a defined area. Neither of them are fundamental SI units.

Good luck finding that last one anywhere in the states, only Japan could think of something so weird.

I just got back from playing at the seniors graduation (I hatehatehate the song Pomp & Circumstance, it is so boring and there aren't any rests where you can put your instrument down for a bit or adjust tuning and I had to play it for a half hour straight and now my arm hurts and I like run on sentences), then took the bus back to the high school where I was picked up by my mother and driven back to the church where graduations are held to watch my sister's 8th grade promotion.

But I do get to miss the piano recital. Thankfully.

I have forgotten how to write lyrics :(
Or, I haven't forgotten how to get it to fit with the melody, but I have forgotten how to describe what I want to describe. Or maybe I've just forgotten how to deal with the language, it seems that the more common it gets for me to use English, the worse my English gets.
