I feel good about a Differential Equations test I took on Friday, but because it's Spring Break at my school (and the prof doesn't use such new technology as the interwebs) I won't know my grade for another week, which annoys me.

Also, whilst on Spring Break, I have 5 homework assignments, one take home test and another test the Thursday after break....Doesn't seem like much of a 'break'. But I don't have classes to go to, so that's something.

And the most random thought of this post- Why are flies called flies? Were they found first? Demetri Martin has a joke about oranges being named oranges first, and then someone found carrots, and he suggests they name them "long pointys". :)

During my school / university / postgrad days I managed to get a reputation for being ridiculously relaxed about exams and tests. My point of view was always that I'd revised beforehand and done the best I could in the test; once the test is finished there's no point worrying about it. Generally, I'd just say that I thought I'd done OK, the only thing I'd comment on would be if something I'd picked to revise in more depth had come up, in which case I would point that out as being a good sign towards passing.

I think people who go around asking others how they thought an exam went are those who want to try to make themselves feel superior by trying to make others think they haven't done very well.
Please note that despite the lovely avatar Sungura gave me, I am not a medical doctor.

I am going to stop responding to emails like this:
what do you available, in holland lops, if you know anyone that raises flemish giant an new zealand could you let us know.......thank you.....Hannah....where are you from

My general location is everywhere on the 'net, including my website. Also I clearly state I no longer have Holland Lops. But....I don't know "what do you available" means anyway.

I want these:
Image
Purple ball pit balls FTW!
...they are $92 for a box of 500. 3" diameter, it says 76 balls per cubic foot on their site but that seems wrong...it would be 4 x 4 x 4 if in a lattice formation (12" / 3" = 4) which is 64 balls....oh yeah. Nevermind. I fail. Okay so that is about 7 cubic feet give or take. It'd be nice to do 4 x 5 x 2 deep (or maybe a bit deeper would be cool, but yeah, I'm thinking minimum here) which is...40 cubic feet... so staying on the shy side all the way around it would take 4 boxes. But I could make my own mix!
Image Image Image Image
Much awesomer than standard primary colours.

Also also, I am annoyed that I cannot buythings over the internets. Why is music much cheaper when it is delivered than when you have to go into a shop and carry it out yourself?

Are there actually places around you that still have them? I know in Toledo, there are maybe 2 or 3 left that still have full play areas, since most of them get taken out for health/safety reasons or just to make room for more seating.

thoughts on rick-rolling:
Has anyone ever rickrolled a rickroll? I see 2 ways of doing that:
1) While watching the video (which would be rick astley singing), it would start again (of course, with the message "you've been rick rolled")
2)Use a video often rick-rolled to interrupt rick.

also, I came up with a new (as far as I know) ultimate rick roll:
CSI: Miami. Dead girl, it was a hit and run.
Horatio: It seem's...(*put's on sunglasses*) She's been rick-rolled. (instead of him living and 'won't get fooled again' starting, he starts singing "never gonna give you up"...Then, a message appears: You've been rick-rolled, or Caine-rolled, or caruso-rolled or whatever you like best.)

The Slip is free. There is no excuse, download it. http://theslip.nin.com/

I haven't got any of his other albums; what I've heard has been on Spotify. Of what I've heard, a lot of the tracks on Year Zero are good. The only problem with that album being that the 'concept' part of it (the whole theocracy, police-state, crazy end-of-the-world scenarios) posited left me feeling confused, paranoid and depressed for days. (Reading the backstory for the ARG on NINwiki didn't help)

Of course, I have the ultimate cure to that which ails ye. (spoilered for large images)

Spoiler:
Image

Image

From here. Get the first here, and the second here.

These tracks are like the literal opposite of Nine Inch Nails. But awesome. The second volume alone is worth the bandwidth; 194 tracks, over 5 hours of music. Granted, quite a bit of it is connecting pieces, and there's a fair bit of mediocrity. But there is also:

1. A bluegrass hoedown. A BLUEGRASS HOEDOWN
2. That music you hear in old silent films when the moustachioed villain is tying the damsel in distress to the railway tracks
3. Non-Stop, the ITN news theme tune (people who have watched Bill Bailey's Guide to the Orchestra will know what I'm talking about)
4. Pretty much everything else.

It's/they're awesome! Download, you eeeediots.

The best albums, ever.

I recently have taken to riposte rickroll-attacks with an erasure roll.

It's effective because
  • The song has recently gotten a lot of attention through flaming homosexual cyborg unicorn whatchamacallit game.
  • It's an ear-worm
  • Once you've gotten it into your head, humming or singing it will embarrass you (especially if you're a manly man.)

I think that joke is lacking something - there should be some punny reason for him to say "rickrolled" as opposed to just... "rolled". Like if she had been killed by a rickshaw.
