Climate Science Special Report

Postby Eebster the Great » Tue Aug 29, 2017 7:21 am UTC

The Climate Science Special Report, a special science component of the quadrennial National Climate Assessment, has been making the rounds for a while now following a report by the New York Times. I decided to skim it and found the results unsurprising but disturbing.

What was especially disturbing was the blatant typo on the second page of the executive summary (page 13 by numbering, page 17 of the PDF). On line 15, the phrase "1.2°F (0.7°F)" should read "1.2°F (0.7°C)". Please inform the president of Earth.

But on a serious note, is there anything novel here to discuss, or is it all just old news?

It might not be published, that's new-ish.
He wondered could you eat the mushrooms, would you die, do you care.

It's just the final draft, and the executive summary is fairly new. Some errors are to be expected.

No, like, the administration might not officially release it.

Have they said anything to that effect?

I saw something alluding to that a week or so ago but I can't find it now.
