That's not a bad idea... I would like to go, but I still can't make promises and I probably won't be able to go in the next month or two months. I'll have to learn now how life works with the baby.

Re: [EUR] Continental Europe!
Starting next week week, I will be spending 25 days in Europe, stoping at Madrid, Barcelona, Paris and Amsterdam. If anyone wants to meet at any of this cities, I'm up for it.
Re: [EUR] Continental Europe!
I would definitely like to meet you either in Amsterdam or in Barcelona (depending on the dates).

Re: [EUR] Continental Europe!
I am also open for a meet up when you're in Amsterdam, but it will be schedule-juggling that week.
Edit: do you have special interests, things you'd like to see that locals might advice you on or take you to?

Re: [EUR] Continental Europe!
I could meet you on 30. or 31. March in Barcelona. We can't meet very long, nor late in the evening, because I have company. But we can meet.
As a plan B, we could meet on 11. April in Amsterdam.

Re: [EUR] Continental Europe!
Zamfir, I still have not much idea of what to do in Amsterdam, and tips from locals, for anything really, are always welcome. Since you will be schedule juggling, I leave it open to you to make suggestions on when and where we can meet.
Jplus, I don't know how much time I will have on 11. April in Amsterdam, since I will fly back to Madrid this day. I still have to buy the tickets, so maybe there will be time, but it is not certain.

Re: [EUR] Continental Europe!
I could meet on Tuesday or Friday evening, or on Saturday.
I pass by Amsterdam on the way back from work, I can park park the car and take the subway to the centre. I know some places to get a bite of food. Alternatively, perhaps you're interested in visiting Utrecht, another city nearby where I live? It's fairly even to me, I like visiting A'dam once in while.

So, Barcelona then?

Yes, Barcelona, on 30.April would be easier I believe.

Tuesday or Friday seems good to me. Visiting Utrecht sounds like a good idea

Where do you live? I could be in the city around 7 o'clock, I'll try a tad earlier.
I'll try to think of some Very Dutch place to eat.

7 o clock is no problem. I can be at Utrecht CS at 18:52 without taking a second off from work.

Sounds like fun.
Re: [EUR] Continental Europe!
Surprise! I will be there as well.
Do we meet at any particular point in Utrecht CS? Like, near track 8 (upstairs)?

Hmm. Clearly I never use the central hall. The arrival board has been removed.

replaced with something digital, right? There's still a central meeting point in any case.
Glad you guys had fun. I'd be up for another meetup in NL, which is incidentally where I live.
This too shall pass

By "us", do you mean Dutchies? Last meeting I attended (planned here) was with three Dutchies, one Dane and one Irish (Diemo). But results from the past...

Sure. I was planning to have a barge holiday about then - possibly in the Netherlands, possibly elsewhere.

Re: [EUR] Continental Europe!
I'm still planning my itinerary, but it looks like I'll be able to spend two or three weeks in Europe, from mid February to early March. There's a really long list of places I'd like to go, but the only certain places so far are in the UK and Benelux, and maybe France, and maybe Poland/Czechia, and and and and...yeah.
Judging by past meetups in this thread, and Diemo's input, it looks like this would best take place somewhere in the Netherlands, maybe?

Re: [EUR] Continental Europe!
I guess it's time we make some decisions. We need to decide on the place and the date. How are we going to decide this? Create a list that people can amend?
Sheikh al-Majaneen: from mid February to early March, preferably UK or Benelux.
Jplus: any time in February or March, lives in the Netherlands, nearby countries are fine.
Diemo: barge holiday about March, possibly in the Netherlands, possibly elsewhere.
6d76746e: ?, lives in Slovakia.
Artemisia: ?, lives in the Netherlands.
I do agree that the Netherlands seem to be the most obvious choice for a place so far. As for a date, maybe the first week of March could work for everyone?

I haven't purchased my airline tickets yet, but that will almost definitely work for me. I have no location restrictions or preferences, as long as it is in a place accessible by train.

I am also Dutch and I like meets. Especially when it's in a place accessible by train. Or accessible by bike if it's near Nijmegen

Re: [EUR] Continental Europe!
I am not going to be able to make it, at least not in February. Maybe June or October or something.
Re: [EUR] Continental Europe!
Are we still going to meet sometime soon? Is the first week of March still a possibility? Should we pick some city in the Netherlands?
In order to have some starting material to discuss: how about Saturday 5. March in Amsterdam, with optional extension to Sunday 6. March?
Unfortunately, I can't offer a place to stay. Either somebody else has to offer a place or travellers have to arrange a place by themselves.

So, I am starting a new job in a week. As such, I can't commit to anything until I figure out how the job goes (I also have to finish my corrections - which really I should have done before I start the new job but I am unsure if I am going to make it).

I will be driving through the Netherlands that very weekend en route to Scandinavia. Alas, I don't think our schedule will allow for the detour.
