Re: Brisbane, Australia Meetup - Sat 13 Dec???
I came to the conclusion that game on's too good to miss if we don't go together, I'll probably go thursday or friday next week.
I'm good for a meet up as long as it's not monday tuesday wednesday.

So, Saturday hey?
With some potential going to check out Game On, hey?
I'm up for that flavour of shenanigans.
Meet at southbank (somewhere)?
At some appropriate point in the day?

I'm free Saturday. The meet up is sounding a little thin on at this stage.

It was fun.
My original intention was to properly photograph the interesting machines there. Failing this I only managed a vague shot of space wars with jess pointing out the destruction.

You have no idea how much I want to find out what happened to the version of that we used to play when I visited my grandparents.
And I checked wikipedia, there is a way to play as the triangle spaceship, which is what I remember doing.
I'm probably going back tomorrow, if anyone wants me to take more photos.

Re: Brisbane, Australia Meetup - Saturday 7th February
you said you didn't think it was a vectrex that your grandparents had? Apparently it was also on the Atari 2600 and by the looks of it companies continued to make clones of the game on other consoles, but they look very different to the vectrex version that we saw.
You should definitely try to find it. There was something about the way those white vectors left a trail on the screen...

That beautiful burning feeling on your retinas...
I'm not sure it was a Vectrex, but I think it was something very very close to that. Definitely wasn't the Atari. I guess it must have been the Vectrex, and my memory was thrown off by the way they'd changed the buttons in the exhibition.

Haha, so true. Epic intro screen. I especially liked the light/trails left by the asteroids game.

Sadly enough, the most fun I had there was probably Halo 3 or kicking that little kids ass in Street Fighter, haha.

Re: Brisbane, Australia Meetup - Saturday 7th February
Thread has been pretty dead lately, anyone up for another meet-up?
Just for a muck around the city or something, anything!

We definitely should! I propose a picnic in the botanic gardens near QUT, then walk to timezone and you can all beat me at shooting games.
But I'll beat you at air hockey.

I fail at air hockey, but I'll kick your butt at shooting games.

Well, I'm going to suggest the 18th or 19th of April, that's while school's are on holidays, maybe most people can make it? If not, please, suggest another day.

I'm extremely excited about this.
I'm going to go look for some colouring in books sometime next week.
So, any other suggestions for the meet up?
