json is not up to date

Postby hotaru » Wed Nov 03, 2010 4:10 am UTC

comic 814 is up, but http://dynamic.xkcd.com/api-0/jsonp/comic/ still shows 813 as the latest and http://dynamic.xkcd.com/api-0/jsonp/comic/814 doesn't work. i'd think there would be an easy way to automate this.
or should people be using http://xkcd.com/info.0.json (and http://xkcd.com/814/info.0.json) instead?

edit: i see that it's been updated now... but it'd be nice if it updated automatically when a new comic gets posted.
Code: Select all
#include <stdio.h>

int main()
{
 struct { unsigned a:3, b:3, c:2; } n = {0};
  do do printf("%hhu\n", *&n);
  while(!(n.a-- && !++n.b));
  while(++n.c);
  return 0; }

You posted this 10 minutes after the comic went out. I don't know (and don't really care) what jsonp is or does, but come on, 10 minutes?
I'm not disorganized. My room has a high entropy.

Whatever. Point is that after the main page is updated, json should also have been updated. So how about we let davean say ".. it was 10 minutes, get over it" because... hey, there may actually be a problem if it's taking 10+ minutes to update.

Its an effect of the caching and how it is specified. The JSONP service was thrown up there to support uni.xkcd.com and making it work was the primary goal. Its about time I chance some designs to allow more flexibility in things such as that.
