Not quite. It's better than normal.

You were turned off for the duration of the downtime. I had to stare at a rotating circle-thingy that implied "I'm trying my best, really, but I just can't get it to work. Maybe now's the time to check whether you've lost internet connectivity through your jumpy wifi access. And if that's not the case, well, then maybe davean is just doing something with the server. Just quit trying to establish a connection already and try again in a couple of minutes.". And it was right.

What is normal? What are cows? It is better than before this fix, and it's arguably better than the period we had garbled search results, but we're still missing out on the search engine from before the migration. :P
But that'll hopefully be fixed within a day as well: viewtopic.php?p=3956168#p3956168

For me personally the search is not really relevant. It's better than before the fix, because of speed. It's better than before the update because of mobile usability.

Well, much as I don't care about egosearch....

It's not a matter of what's important to you, it's a matter of what's broken. Broken things need to be fixed.

Also, search in general is pretty useful, to avoid having duplicate threads, and for usability reasons (try looking for a specific recipe in the food forum, for instance).
Mighty Jalapeno: "See, Zohar agrees, and he's nice to people."
SecondTalon: "Still better looking than Jesus."

Not how I say my name
