The Christian in Today's Culture (book)

I'm not entirely certain that this topic should go here, but I think it fits more here than anywhere else, so here goes: I have to read this train wreck of a book for one of my classes. Friday's class is going to be about chapter 11. There's a section titled "Basic Contradictions" on page ...

Leveling outside of individual battles is a bad idea in RTSes. It makes things really suck for low-level players.

Big enough that you can't see land on the other side. But you're right, that would be annoying. Maybe better boats would help.

There seems to be a parallel to religious groups here. Anonymous -> "Christians/Muslims/Jews/etc" Those are more ideologies than groups, though. You could also say that there's a parallel between Anonymous and Democrats. If there isn't an authoritative body that decides who's in and out o...

I've only played RTW. Usually by the time I'm getting too big to defend cities I've captured they aren't attacked very often. An army made of quick-moving units like horsemen+a bunch of low-tier melee and some archers in every city is usually enough to fend off invasions. Is very hard mode for battl...

There might be a setting somewhere that would cause them to require more wealth before attacking. If there isn't, you can try to make as little wealth as possible until you're ready.

I've never been able to consistently solve that problem. The only thing to do seems to be to leave the rock alone and hope someone eventually uses it for something. You'll have to be sure it's not set to be dumped. Sometimes removing the order to build the workshop and setting it again will work.

I played it for a bit. I only leveled up a couple times so I only have experience with the introductory stuff, but it seems to be pretty well polished if not exactly inspired. The biggest draw was the fact that most all of the monsters I had fought in D&D (or at least read about in the MM). The ...

If you let the drink run out for 1 second, the Dwarfs default to water only. If the water/well is frozen, or you have no buckets they dehydrate and die. If you make new booze, they still have a "get water" jorb set, and cannot be reset until they get water (at least from my experience). S...

Do you have a civilian alert set? If y'all's dwarves can't path to water, it sounds like either a burrows problem or you accidentally disconnected y'all's fort from the rest of the map. It's winter and the map is temperate. All the water is frozen, except for some I used to irrigate my farm. I gues...

Nope. I thought it might have something to do with all the booze being in a burrow without any dwarves assigned to it, but they'll pick up rocks and stuff in burrows that aren't their own so I don't think that's the problem.

@above: is your booze inaccessible or forbidden? Nope. Well if it's mid-winter, and your booze is stockpiled outside for some reason, maybe it's frozen solid? :) You could check the contents of the barrel for that, and if it is, move it all inside. I'm fairly certain it's inside, since that's where...
