Re: Canada Bus Beheading

The BC feet are probably from a sunken boat somewhere off the coast. Modern runners (tennis shoes, for Americans) don't degrade so fast, nor let in as much water, so the feet stay whole for longer. (Edited: they also float better, since many are full of air.) There was one foot that washed up recent...

Re: Favourite Voice Actors?

Just to briefly extend the reach of this thread, the acting in the Myst games was brilliant, specifically Gehn in Riven, and Sirrus in the later games. Seconded. Man, I wish I could replay RIven without knowing the game. The experience was wonderful, but replaying takes all that joy of discovery ou...

[feels ill at all the puns in bad taste] [would like to say it's a bad thing, but can't quite] In all (or most) seriousness, it's rare that Canada gets to star on the world stage for hosting something so royally fucked up. "Priests molesting students" has been done elsewhere; our oppressio...

SciAm, mostly, everything they publish. (Fangirl blush.) What can I say? I like my reading to have minimal human hellishness, and nearly-pure science fits the bill.

SA Mind is all about the human, but minimises the hellishness.

Here's a question: Do people from outside the USA really assume we all own guns? Yes. When I was 12, we moved from Canada (Vancouver) to the US (Seattle area). We spent six years there because my father's company wanted him to run a branch "down there". (They closed shop in year 6 and bro...

Interesting drawing style, and I can see where you're finding the humour. It does sometimes seem obscure or overdone, though. Try going more for short-and-snappy. It was CGI meant to make visible a part of the show that TV cameras wouldn't be able to catch, IIRC. The acrobatics required of a helicopter to follow the "footsteps" would have been dangerous in an area that populated, or something.

Doesn't bother me much, really.
