Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

People keep saying that, but if you look at the numbers, Jund is still the most successful deck in Standard.

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

Planeswalkers enter the battlefield (formerly the "in play" zone) with a number of loyalty counters indicated in the bottom right of the card. You can gain or spend loyalty counters by using one of their abilities per turn as a sorcery. In terms of older stuff "phasing out", Stan...

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

Well, for starters, you can't have 4 Black Lotuses. (It's on the Vintage Restricted List and the Legacy Banned List with the rest of the Power 9.) Planeswalkers are a new card type that have changed up the game significantly. There's a very powerful (and expensive) one doing strange things to Standa...

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

Of course a Vintage deck will beat "modern" decks. That's unsurprising. And honestly, the Power Nine/Mishra's Workshop/I Win On Turn 1 Vintage decks will probably beat this one almost all of the time.

Rotation Day will save us from Jund. Glorious, merciful Rotation Day.

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

"Spread 'Em" is frustrating due to the fact that's it's essentially "4-of each of the most expensive cards in Standard and then you can beat Jund". It's not a very satisfying answer to Jund.

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

Nighthawk isn't that great, to be honest. Not in today's T2 anyway. It's a solid card, but it's a little bit of everything and not enough of anything. It can race, but aggro decks now are so fast that a 4-point swing/turn isn't even relevant. It's good for defense but most aggro decks carry either ...

Should be "SaSop yIntaHqu' 'ej SaSopHa'", and even then, "SaSop yIntaHqu'" doesn't really make any sense. You probably want some kind of "while" clause instead.

I wonder if it is true that, on the average, Asian parents exert more pressure on their children to excel in school. I'm not sure how you would measure that. But if it were known to be true, then Fin's guess would be more reasonable.
