Re: Sleep-time holodeck experiences

I dreamed I was participating in a video game that was a LEGO version of a large-scale urban battle. There were two teams, those with hats, and those without. Even though it was a video game or a simulation, I was transposed into the virtual world, like virtual reality I guess but I wasn't sitting s...

I must have been hungry. I remember in the dream there was a hotel or a guest house of some sort, and someone was cooking a cut of meat and pouring hot sauce on it.

Re: Gaming fleeting thoughts

Fighting games don't appeal to me much. The only non-Smash Bros. fighting game I ever cared about was Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution. I had played a few others, but I don't know why it appealed to me so much. Part of it was the in-depth tutorial, that walks me through each character's moveset, and also ...

I'd be interested to see actual statistics on how many researchers are killed by the thing they research.

Also, if "become a statistic" is a euphemism for death, I'd like to see where statisticians lie on such a graph.

Re: Mechanical audio amplifiers

Well, as far as musical sounds involving pressurized air, that sounds like how a pipe organ works. I don't know about amplification, because I think the keyboard just controls the valves. The pressurized air flowing through the pipes makes the musical tones, rather than amplifying another sound. But...

It was so clear to me when I woke up, but now I only remember it vaguely. There was a box or crate, and inside was a pop star. He had been criminally abducted and was inside the box against his will. My mother was with me, and she noticed that the guy was inside the box. The prisoner continued to us...

Risk of Rain 2 just released on Steam. It's $19.99, but you get one extra copy if you buy it before the 30th. It's early access, but I'm a huge fan of the first game so I thought the price was good for two copies.

Dwarf Fortress is coming to Steam. I was surprised at the news. I'm also uncertain as to the game's future. They said on Bay12 that the free version will still be available and will be regularly updated. Are they also going to update the Steam version? It might just be the same version with a tile s...

Something about using a magical stringed instrument to become a superhero. I was more like the sidekick, but my power was equal to the superhero. I dreamed I was scheduled to participate in an auto race, to take place in the middle of town on a wooden track that was built over a pond. Re: Controversial opinions about food

Why do they put salt on the peanut shells? The shell is discarded and what is inside the shell is eaten. If you want salt on your peanuts, shouldn't it be applied to the peanuts instead of the part that's discarded? That just discards the salt as well.

About two years ago I built a new PC. It was my first custom build, and it turned out fine. But I have had a problem with Windows 10 s...

I'm still interested in this game, and I'm glad to see that it's gotten a positive reception after its full release. I wanted to trade in my car and buy a new one, so I just gave to the keys to a friend (who was kind of like James Franco) to do it for me. I'd consider Chinatown's ending a downer ending. The protagonist gains nothing, and loses his love interest. The villain gets away with his scheme unpunished, but loses his daughter. She is revealed to have lived a very troubled life, and dies after she sees hope of being able to escape that life. T...

I mean there is no continuity across the relay coil. The relay is 24VDC and I don't have a readily available power source for that kind of test. My oven stopped working a few days ago. The bottom element won't heat. I checked the element, and it seems fine, since it has continuity and will actually get hot if short circuited.
