I don't actually hope for a solution, but I expect technology to solve itself. It won't be long before standard processing-speed and accessible-bandwidth will eclipse any effort to add speed or data limits for usage. In a tech-war between Comcast and Apple/Google/Microsoft, I'm betting on the latter.

If you block the advertisements in any medium (Adblock, mute, change channel, turn dial etc.) the ad-men will just weave ads into the content. It’s debatable which is worse. Most media only exists because ads pay the bills; Budweiser will not be silenced.
