Re: Police misbehavior thread

This, unfortunately, results in "going to the police" being wildly not worthwhile as a resolution. I mean, I don't doubt that the two, particularly being minors, would have gotten off fairly lightly for repeated vandalism, escalating to many thousands in damage as they trashed a car utter...

Also keep in mind that in the specific example you gave, what makes the difference is not the inertial motion of the spaceships and earth, but their acceleration. There's no absolute sense of how fast you're going, but there's an absolute sense of how much faster you're going now than you were a mom...

When reading this, it is difficult for me to not imagine that the author saw someone else complaining that people were misinterpreting them frequently, when they think that they are writing clearly (perhaps they even feel like they are putting in quite a bit of effort to try to be understood). The ...

When I first moved out of my dad's shack, I was proud of the fact that all my worldly possessions fit into my car. That means I wasn't a clutterbug like my mom, I was lean and clean and spartan. Honey-glazed turkey does sound more appealing than actual Turkish delight to me, but only in the way that, say, a spicy italian sausage sounds better than german chocolate cake (with coconut flakes, ew): it's a different category of food altogether.

Victorville is out in the desert, toward Barstow. There's not enough vegetation for a fire like we had, nor enough hills for mudslides, nor enough rain for mudslides even if there were hills to slide (hence the lack of vegetation, natch). Instead they have wind, and dust, and, apparently, tumbleweed...

Particles as sets?

Pardon that this is probably a dumb question but I'm half asleep right now. As I understand it, basically all mathematical objects are reducible to sets, yes? E.g. a group is a special kind of set defined in relation to certain operations thereupon meeting certain rules? And, as I understand it less...

My mom had me diagnosed with OCD because I cared about toilet paper orientation as a teenager and neither she nor dad understood why anyone would care about something like that, so finding out as an adult that other people care too (even if 40% of them are wrong) is a huge relief.
