I didn't love it! I think I'm the only one, though. I didn't see the point - it was just a complete re-do of the original, without any sort of twist. I would have liked if it was a different take on the traditional story. Also I thought it was very over-the-top visually.
Visually, La La Land was my favorite movie of the year. I loved the colors, the outfits and the production design. Overall, I liked the film but it didn't blow my mind. I also didn't love the music. Shouldn't there be a jazz song since he's a jazz performer? Overall, I'd give it an A-.
