Great story and impressive artwork. But I feel I should curl up and cry in a corner for a while now :/

Re: Shores of Hazeron

Haha, glad you caught that.

Here's a gameplay video that shows off a good chunk of the features.

The graphics weren't anything special but they got the job done.

Re: Shores of Hazeron

A few years back I tried it. Unless the game has significantly changed its really not on the same level as Hazeron was. The best part of Hazeron, IMO, was being able to design a ship and walk around inside it as well as pilot it.

Re: Shores of Hazeron

Novus Aeterno looks pretty cool, I might check it it. Still not really what I'm looking for though. Star Citizen is the closest thing I've seen but I can hardly run that. Hopefully I can afford a new video card for that soon :(.

Re: Shores of Hazeron

A brief description won't really do it justice, but here's one anyways: Shores of hazeron was an online space simulation game. When you create an empire you start off on a planet basically left to your own devices to create a space faring civilization. You start off by declaring a city and building ...

Shores of Hazeron

With Shores of Hazeron offline now, I was wondering if anybody knows of something similar. Though with how obscure SoH was, not sure anybody will even know what I'm talking about...

Re: no high speed internet access

Depends on how good your signal is I suppose. The easiest thing to do is try it and see what happens. I'd be concerned about Sprint's reaction to using it for this though...

Re: And it still worked?

I used to have a laptop that was really picky about turning on. One day, out of frustration, I leaned on the bezel right under the keyboard almost like I was holding it down and forcing it into submission... it worked. With a little investigation I found that to be the location of the CPU. Of course...

Re: Crashy-ass computer... It's a mystery

I used to have random crashes like yours. My solution was to unplug the lights on the front of the case. Still not sure what was going on there. Literally replaced every part except the case. One day of mucking around inside I forgot to plug the lights back in amazingly the crashes stopped. No idea ...

Re: Ethics of AdBlock

I sort of see ads as a way of tipping the owner(s) of the site, producer of the content, etc. I disable adblock for sites that I frequent. And I definitely disable it on YouTube. YouTube has horribly annoying ads, especially near election season, but it almost feels like stealing when I use it there...

Re: Samsung Galaxy S3 becoming sluggish

The easiest "fix" is probably a factory reset. Of course that will wipe everything off your phone. If you don't want to do anything that drastic I would recommend going through and deleting any apps that you aren't using then, as already recommended, be sure to clear your cache out.

Re: What books would you like to see made into movies?

I would like to see some of the sequels to Ender's Game made into movies. Speaker for the dead and so on seem unlikely though since they take a slower pace. I could definitely see the shadow series translated to movie form though. Just about finished with shadow of the giant now.

Re: Games you can't remember the title of.

Not Monkey Island but thanks. The game I'm trying to find was first person. If I remember right, the sword fighting was done with the mouse to move the sword around, still first person, and you had to block the attacker's blows. Maybe click to swing but I don't remember for sure, I was very young wh...

* Background : Old adventure type game where you are on an island with a bunch of pirates. Don't remember why you are there, shipwrecked maybe. I remember there being a sort of pub / inn at the beginning and finding rat poison in the back room. * System : PC, win 95 / 98 * Year : mid / late 90s * Pe...
