Though I do agree they need to be taxed more and regulated to the same standards as a taxi service, up to and including needing medallions or whatever esoteric method a city uses. Or we get rid of the medallion system, because it is batshit. A system for limiting the number of cabs on the street ac...

Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQA Thread - Queer Support!

[I may have talked about this before; I can't really remember] So, a few months ago I realized that while I really loved being on E, I'll probably want children eventually. So I started tapering off HRT (with the guidance of a great doctor). And it really sucks. Not like the acute everything is terr...

Re: [SAFESPACE] Woman Thread - All Things Women. Period.

So as it turns out, Victoria's Secret employees are significantly better at bra fitting than I am. Some combination of that + body shape changes since I last went bra shopping means that I'm now wearing a 34D instead of a 36A, and as it turns out that's significantly more comfortable. >_> I blame b...

Re: Awesome Thread: awesome

Just moved into my new apartment for grad school. Holy crap I like this place. It's light and airy and full of windows (even a window in the shower!) and for the first time in my life I have a fridge to myself. Also I got grad school funding, so I can actually afford the apartment now. woo funding!...

I'm not a huge fan of the graphics. I really like stealth games, and Mark of the Ninja was awesome as a 2D stealth game. Yeah, the graphics aren't exactly my thing, either. I think/hope that they are there for flavor, not because of shitty development. It's... let's say "surprising" they ...

I always thought it would be cool if you had a entire knife made out of a monocrystalline piece of an ultra hard material. E.g. Tungsten Carbide It's stupidly impractical since it would be cheaper to hire a chef to use a regular one than it would be to make/buy a knife like that (I'd imagine in the...

I was taught in high school that there are two rather different kinds of life insurance: Term life insurance, which you pay a standard premium into, and receive more than you paid into if you die early.
