Re: 1882: "Color Models"

I think the problem with embedded color profiles is that what they're designed to do and what they actually do are two completely different things. Their purpose is to override the limitations of the monitor. But they don't. In fact, most of the time they do the exact opposite. If I've adjusted my ...

Re: 1882: "Color Models"

I am a against-color-profiles camp person. They are somewhat fine for screen calibration maybe but I am against attaching color profile to video/image files unless the image file is going into print and not for any other purpose. Just like dictating one single device-pixel-perfect web layout is wro...

Maybe it should quote a Pantone number, or #222222, instead... Now you've triggered me. #222222 and the like are "output referred" colors. They don't describe the color in any absolute terms, but rather how much a particular output/display device like a printer or screen should be driven ...

Re: Laptop speakers don't work, clicking noise when accessed

It's almost certainly an issue with the speakers themselves. The fact that they are detected and the headphones work implies the output chain to the speakers is fine. Most likely a damaged speaker or connection. (in laptops the connection is often a hair-thin ribbon cable)

Re: Is the faster processor on the new MacBook worth it?

The CPU won't make a big difference. It will make any compiling or rendering you do a bit faster (~10%) but that's it. Normally I'd say skip the RAM, but since it is soldered onto the boards in those machines, you might want to think about ordering the 16GB option, just to be on the safe side. $200 ...
