Re: Alright, I need your help...Opening up a bar

You should open it up in Iowa.

...Ok, so that's a terrible idea, but I would love you for it.

Re: "Secretary: Part 2"

Great comic, a little disappointed with this thread. Seriously, the only thing more annoying than a /b/tard is an anti /b/tard. Just give the current tards a year with it and they will get bored after seeing 99% reposted memes and 1% OC. No need to act better than them because they go to a website.

Re: StarCraft II problems?

While dbsmith makes some excellent points, the way blizzard choose is better than the alternative. Having three campaigns spread over three games with at least six months in between each? No thank you. By the time the new expansion came out, I would have to replay each of the original campaigns just...

Re: TOP TIPS

Sensors under the road pick up the weight of the cars, and having a pedestrian waiting to cross "tips the scales" in that direction's favour, so to speak. Actually, traffic signal use induction to trigger the traffic signal according to wikipedia . The metal in your car sets it off rather...

Re: TOP TIPS

Having pushed my fair share of crossing buttons, I'm with the crowd that says there is no trick to make them trigger faster. What would be the practical use of having a secret combination to make the light trigger faster, with the exception of it being an easter egg? Lame life hack: Need to get into...

All your base are b....

I always thought a computer that used a base different from binary would be interesting idea. Probably not worth the time and effort, but interesting never the less.

Re: Heroes of Might and Magic

I'm a big fan of H3. Just when I thought I was getting tired of the game I discovered WOG, and my addiction was jump started again. I still find time to play a game once in awhile even though there is H4 and H5 now. I didn't enjoy 4, but 5 wasn't too bad. You really need the hammers of fate expansio...

You may feel the urge to kill me after posting a link to a different forum instead of discussing it here, but penny-arcade has made quite the uber list. It's hard to beat.

Re: Man Thread: A-Grade Barrel-Distilled Manliness

I'd venture that steak is pretty high up there as well. it goes inferior foods < Bacon < Steak in my opinion. Then, of course, it goes <Raw Steak By that logic, cows are manlier than steaks. Which is wrong. I'm going to have to disagree, eating a cow is manlier than eating a raw steak. First you ha...

Re: Mario Kart 64 hacking!

Nice work! I always loved playing around with hacks for my favorite old school game (MK64 seems especially interesting). I'm looking forward to what comes of this - hopefully you can bring us the next Lunar Magic, only for MK64.

Re: Questions For The World

This might sound odd or unintelligent, but Is it true that in US an 'average' family lives in its own standalone house with 2 stories, many appliances in it, garage next to it and a swimming pool in the yard? Or this is a Hollywood created illusion? As poochy said, it really depends on your area. I...

Re: Is XKCD forum is going boring?

If you find a problem with a forum that you care about, do something to fix it instead of making a thread complaining about it. If you are tired of people being elitist, don't be one yourself. Once you make a big enough foot print on the forum, newbies will hopefully look up to you and follow your e...

Re: Best Video Game

(in no order) Super Smash Bros Melee - I played Melee before the original so it was hard to go back to the classic. I think I've played enough versus matches to unlock Mewtwo 4 times now. Starfox 64 - wasn't anything fantastic but for some reason I couldn't help but play that game. Since my sister t...

Re: Something on a USB Drive to annoy a thief

A makeshift solution would be to have one file and one folder on your root. Store all your files in the folder. In Windows you can customize the folder icon, and there is a transparent icon somewhere (or you could simply make one). Make the name of the folder Alt+0167 which is a blank IIRC. Make it ...

Re: 'Wanted' [2008] Discussion

I am surprise time and time again whenever I hear people discussing this movie. My girlfriend and I went to it and both agree it was terrible. Despite the fact that they were using all this fancy bullet bending, nothing in the movie seemed original. (as pointed out above). Moreover, nothing was memo...

Re: question about power supplys

From what I got from this website, I would say yes. EDIT: Forgot, can't post links yet. Here is a quote: Many power supplies come with a 6+2 PCI Express power cable which is compatible with both kinds of video cards. The 6+2 PCI Express power cable is made up of two pieces: a 6 pin piece, and a 2 pi...

I was told that the first way is a macro which expands to the second version. If in doubt, check whether your Scheme implements R5RS . I seem to remember hearing the same thing from my scheme professor. Its more a matter of taste -- if you are doing it for a class, do it however the professor has t...

Re: [stereo]Typical DnD

I agree with Naurgul's post. From a player's aspect, I think it would be most enjoyable if it was humorous, almost slapstick at times. Keep to the cliché as much as possible, especially with NPC dialog. Watch some old movies, find the illogical parts, and exploit those moments in your game. Steal fr...
