Still unacceptable.
From memory, they were above a planet. If they weren't in orbit then yes, things do indeed fall in space. Now, maybe not in quite the direction you would like, but things are still gravitating.

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi

Indeed. If I'm looking for a fun action movie, I'll often put more stock into the audience score than the critics. Similarly I would imagine that plenty of SW fans would trust other fans more than critics.

I don't have a huge problem with it, considering it alongside the whole new identity thing they had going on with Darth Vader... Talking about past self as a third person could work.

The main ish with TLJ is that they're still just splicing together different bits of IV, V, and VI in random order and changing the flavor around with a few "Gotcha!"s thrown in there as a vague nod to being unique and creative. You're practically complaining that they've used the same un...

↶ The thing that bugs me the most is Rey and Kylo struggling against the imperial guard dudes, and not using the force at all. Like, both of them are powerfully enough (even if Rey isn't trained) to pick the guards up and drop them down the inevitable endless hole that is present in eve...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi

I liked it, and find a lot of criticism to come across as "they didn't tell the story I wanted them to tell", as opposed to "they didn't tell the story well". To me, VII had landed a plane that was in a real tailspin after the prequels. Yes, it was unoriginal but it was safe, and...

Re: XKCD, where they talk shit about you in a secret subforum

I still contend that EtS isn't particularly mean spirited. It's occasionally rude, but, again, we have no idea who's going to see it because it's not secret. We're carrying on with this presumption that: a) EtS is bad, and b) people are being terrible there. Both of those things are false. It's simp...

Nah, that's just relativity. Time has apparent discrepancies from Newton's first law of Foradynamics: All threads have identical kinetic energy. However, that's because it's Time, when you try to measure its speed (in time), you cancel out either side of the equation, and thus it loads instantly.

I've really enjoyed it. I'm like five episodes into season two. I think the pacing is better than most of the super hero shows, and it doesn't feel the need to follow a "new bad guy, almost lose, deus ex machina to win" formula that a lot of these shows seem to fall into. Eta: Also, fight ...
