Thread drift: To my uneducated eye it seems as though Leftpondians are more prone to using brand names as generics than we Rightpondians are (e.g. Band Aids vs plasters, Q-tips vs cotton buds, Sharpies vs marker pens, Xeroxing vs photocopying etc., although we do use Sellotape and Hoover our carpet...
