Re: District 9

No Uprising: As mentioned a few times already, there was no uprising. The weapons were WAY more advanced and could do unspeakable things... and apparently the aliens amassed them and made them on a regular basis... but never used them. What? And we saw Chris make a bomb in about 5 seconds! Now, of ...

Yuri2356, your explanation for my question is the same as Spacemilk's, and I think that you are probably both correct. It doesn't make that much sense to spend much time with anger at a position of mine that I called crazy. My whole point was that I was praising the film. You agree that Winkus star...

Actually, terminators are pretty easy to defeat, all you gotta do is cut open the head and unscrew their chip holder. (Obviously doesn't apply to t-1000's) Kinda funny actually, they spend so much time making out that they are indestructible, when they actually have a pretty major design flaw. Sure...

I generally preferred Robot Wars, mostly because there was more damage involved. Competitors like Hypnodisk would often win by completely wrecking their opponent, and the house robots would generally unpleasant things to anyone who got within reach.

Tom Baker Doctor refused to eliminate the Daleks as well in Genesis of the Daleks. At that time in the writing, the Daleks also weren't universe-destroying engines of hyperdeath who'd beaten the Time Lords in a total war. They were also allowed to be something other than invincible most of the time...

Yes, in so many movies casual conversation is bound to mention key things that will matter later. A good counter-example would be Pulp Fiction, in which several conversations and emotional moments are truly irrelevant to the story. This is something you'll find in just about all of Quentin's work. ...

Error of division. Mans are not a hivemind. Plenty of our interests lie in creating a just society where half of its members are not often subjected to grievous harm for arbitrary reasons.
