Re: Civilization IV Vanilla PBEM

It's somewhere in between you and me, Phen, because you sent the save on 10/9, and I last received on 10/7.

I say we blame Henre. Even if it's not his fault. Especially if it's not his fault.

Where's our game at these days? I know Bigglesworth was out, but I thought he was going to be back around the 1st. I last sent to Soralin on 7/16.

Yep, that's my fault then. Mine arrived in the evening, and is BC 2880. I'll get it to you later tonight, am in a raid atm, but I'll play my turn and send it to you within a couple hours or so.

Re: Civilization IV Vanilla PBEM

I received my last save 5/12 at 7:00 CST. That would seem to be behind henre, but I also have a nagging feeling I haven't played this save for some reason. If Kizyr is pretty sure he's not the one holding us up, I'll play the turn I got last and send it to soralin... sound OK?

Re: D&D: 1e, 2e, 3.0/3.5, 4e: which do you prefer?

I need to actually get in a game of 4e, but what I saw flipping through the rule book looks promising. With the abolishment of spell preparation, the experience of playing a caster may not suck more than a black hole now! Of what I played, though, 3e/3.5e is the best. I couldn't really pick one of t...

And I'm hard-pressed to call any of the episodes in later seasons not very good. I don't think I've ever seen a show where the first season is so remarkably better than all the following ones. Not saying season two was bad, or even season three or four, but in all of those there are certain episodes which were very bad or completely un-connected to any of the ongoing plots. Sea...

The story in the Halo series really grabbed me, although Halo 3 is only on the 360 as of yet, so you won't be able to finish it until you get a 360 (if you don't have one). Very few game moments have been as profoundly moving (to me) as the scene where you rescue Cortana in Halo 3, for example. Beau...

Yeah, throwing the technology into the sun felt really contrived and out of character.
