If you keep going from philosophy (ignoring [i]all[i] parentheses) you eventually get to science. Therefore, the same rule will work for science and would sound much better to offer as an interesting conversational topic or to subtly prove a point.

Ummm... I don't see the typo. What I currently read, as of 7:10 A.M. Central time, is that it actually says "by." Is there some weird grammar rule between the two that I am not getting (making "by" the wrong choice), did Randall fix it, or am I (or all of you, as I suspected earl...
